FM Player No88 Santiago Ascacibar

PLAYER NO88

Name: Santiago Lionel Ascacibar

Original Team: Estudiantes LP (Argentina)

Best Position: Center Midfield

Best Attribute: Determination / Stamina / Anticipation

Bio: In these modern-day football times. I take great pleasure in saying this is one of those real old-fashioned centre midfielders. A proper box to box player. He literally has lungs for days. All game, he will get up and down the pitch, contributing in defence and attack. Defensively he will press, harass and get about the pitch, snapping at players heels, putting pressure on and winning the ball back. Offensively, he will often make lung bursting runs, ahead of the strikers, to get on the end a cross to notch the odd goal here and there. He’s a rare, invaluable, work horse type player with quality. If nurtured correctly, a cross between Roy Keane and Kante. (I know, what a comparison) Due to his determination at both ends of the pitch, you can’t help but to warm to him. I will say he doesn’t do any one thing particularly superbly, but he does everything extremley well. Also one of those players that seemed to improve and get better every year. Moving from Argentina at a young age didn’t seem to be a problem and he developed into European football nicely. While he was with me was capped for Argentina several times and went to major international tournaments. Unfortunately, I couldn’t hold out any longer and he moved to Atletico Madrid for a whopping 46m.
