Say goodbye to Sunderland, Cardiff and Norwich!

Survival kitSay goodbye to Sunderland, Cardiff and Norwich!

With four or five games to go until the end of the season it is the ultimate “squeaky bum” time at the bottom of the table as teams fight to stay in the league.

I have given my thoughts about the remaining fixtures of the seven teams who are not out of the woods yet. To predict which three teams and fans will be crying come May 11th.

Bottom of the league as it stands……

14 Aston Villa  34 Points Gd -14
15 Swansea      33 Points Gd -5
16 West Brom  33 Points Gd -11
17 Norwich       32 Points Gd -27
18 Fulham        30 Points Gd -40
19 Cardiff          29 Points Gd -34
20 Sunderland 26 Points Gd -25

Remaining fixtures…..

ASTON VILLA

POSITION: 14th
POINTS: 34

Southampton (H) Swansea (A) Hull City (H) Man City (A) Tottenham (A)

Even though Villa have been better away than at home I expect them to pick up more points in their two home games than their three away games. Can’t see them getting anything in their last two games. But could win at home to Hull and claim two draws against Southampton and Swansea but one of those games could easily be a defeat.

Prediction: 39 Points. SAFE

SWANSEA

POSITION: 15th
POINTS: 33

Newcastle (A) Aston Villa (H) Southampton (H) Sunderland (A)

I can possibly see Swansea claiming a win away to Newcastle which may just see them safe. After that, possibly two draws at home to Villa and Southampton which are the tricky games where one could be a defeat. followed up by a defeat at Sunderland to close the season.

Prediction: 38 Points. SAFE

WEST BROMWICH ALBION

POSITION: 16th
POINTS: 33

Man City (A) West Ham (H) Arsenal (A) Sunderland (A) Stoke City (H)

Cannot see WBA getting much from their away games. They will lose at City and Arsenal but possibly could get a draw at Sunderland. They could easily get two victories at home against West Ham and Stoke but it is very conceivable they will end up with a win and a draw in those two games.

Prediction: 38 Points. SAFE

NORWICH CITY

POSITION: 17th
POINTS: 32

Liverpool (H) Man Utd (A) Chelsea (A) Arsenal (H)

These are some real tough last four fixtures for Norwich and I am struggling to see where they will get any points. At home will be the most likely but with Liverpool going for the title and Arsenal gunning for the Champions League it looks like four defeats and zero points for them.

Prediction: 32 Points. RELEGATED

FULHAM

POSITION: 18th
POINTS: 30

Tottenham (A) Hull City (H) Stoke City (A) Crystal Palace (H)

These are some tricky fixtures to predict for Fulham. I suspect they will lose away at Spurs then pick up a victory at home to fa cup finalist Hull. Away to Stoke and home to Palace could go either way with those teams playing for nothing but I feel they could lose at Stoke but claim a win at home to Palace.

Prediction: 36 Points. SAFE

CARDIFF CITY

POSITION: 19th
POINTS: 29

Stoke City (H) Sunderland (A) Newcastle (A) Chelsea (H)

Cardiff will be up against it to maintain their Premier League status with these fixtures. I see them claiming draws in their next three games at home to Stoke and away to fellow strugglers Sunderland then Newcastle. It is possible one of these games could end with a win. Following this I can’t see them getting anything at home to Chelsea which will end their Premier league run.

Prediction: 34 Points. RELEGATED

SUNDERLAND

POSITION: 20th
POINTS: 26

Chelsea (A) Cardiff (H) Man Utd (A) West Brom (H) Swansea (H)

I feel Sunderland are already doomed regardless of these fixtures. Cant see them getting anything at Chelsea or Man Utd. They could quite possibly get three wins in their home games against Cardiff, West Brom and Swansea but I feel they will pick up one win and two draws.

Prediction: 31 Points. RELEGATED

Predicted final standings

14 Aston Villa  39 Points
15 Swansea      38 Points
16 West Brom  38 Points
17 Fulham        36 Points
18 Cardiff         34 Points
19 Norwich      32 Points
20 Sunderland 31 Points
