Bio: As full backs go, he is as solid as they come. With some typical Russian steal and efficiency, he is a quality defender while being extremely useful in attack.
He will not forage forward and score man goals, but he will join the attack with his energetic runs and create chances. I was really impressed with his crossing ability, as more often than not, he will find his team-mate in dangerous positions in the box.
Defensively, he is reliable, strong and always gives wingers a hard days work. He also had that unique quality of being in the right place at the right time. A bonus is he has a decent free kick and I have often witnessed him put quality balls in or even score from a few.
In the end, he played on to captain my side for a few seasons and was also capped for the Russian national team, but not nearly as much as she should have been.
