PLAYER NO83
Name: Niklas Sule
Original Team: Hoffenheim (Germany)
Best Position: Center Back
Best Attribute: Heading/ Marking / Strength
Bio: This is a no frills, no-nonsense, typically efficient German defender.
Let me start off by saying he’s excellent in the air, but has very good all around defensive attributes such as tackling, pace, marking, positioning, strength and composure.
In the air he is an asset in both boxes, although he does not score as much as I expect or hope he would.
Nevertheless at corners if you put him to mark the keeper he will get a few. But bare in mind, if you put him to flick on at the near post he will assist even more.
He’s also very competent with the ball at his feet and will be comfortable playing in a team where keeping the ball is the philosophy. He also very rarely gets injured.
Another tip is if you put him to mark an opponents star striker, more often than not he will come out on top.
He’s also leader material and has often captained teams. If you are with a so-called smaller club, it may be difficult to keep hold of him forever, as he will shine and attract the attention of the real big clubs at the time.
A silver lining is I have seen him sold for as much as £35m.
