MY TOP 20 POUND FOR POUND (Male) BOXERS FOR 2025

1. OLEKSANDER USYK –  23-0

He won the Boxing Super Series and became the undisputed cruiserweight champion. He then moved to heavyweight and again became an undisputed champion. If that wasnt enough he defeated Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury twice. I don’t think anyone can debate his position as No. 1 on this list.

2. TERENCE CRAWFORD – 41-0

He has won world titles in four weight classes and was the first male boxer to become undisputed in two, as he cleaned up at light welterweight and welterweight. Every time he has stepped up in class and weight, he has excelled and not seriously tested in his 41-fight career.

3. NAOYE INOUE – 28-0

“The Monster” has ploughed through fighters, winning titles in four divisions. He is the second man to become undisputed at two weight classes, bantamweight and super bantamweight. His knockout rate is phenomenal, with only three opponents making it the final bell and none since 2019.

4. ARTUR BETERBIEV – 21-0

He became the tenth male undisputed fighter in history after his recent win over Bivol. Before that win, he was the only champion with a 100% knockout rate. A ferocious puncher with underrated boxing and wins over Tony Bellew, Anthony Yarde & Oleksandr Gvozdyk.

5. DMITRY BIVOL – 24-1

He narrowly lost his title to Beterbiev, but was a majority decision away from becoming undisputed at light heavyweight. Some even said he won that fight, and have called for a rematch. Before that, his resume looked impressive, with wins over Canelo, Gilberto Ramirez, Jean Pascal and Lyndon Arthur.

6. CANELO ALVAREZ – 62-2-2

The Mexican legend is a veteran in the sport with over 66 fights, winning titles at four weights. The current unified WBA, WBO & WBC super middleweight champion will be looking to be undisputed for a second time. He has fought a who’s, who of fighters and is recognised as the current face of boxing.

7. GERVONTA DAVIS – 30-0

The current WBA lightweight champion has some of the most devastating knockouts in modern-day boxing. Despite doubters of his resume, he has risen to every challenge and every occasion and always puts on a show, but a super fight is needed to cement his legendary status.

8. JESSE RODRIGUEZ – 21-0

He is a former unified flyweight champion and the current WBC super flyweight champion. He’s an underrated boxer, but also one of the most devastating punchers in the lighter weights. He can box and punch, is lightning quick with superb footwork, and can be a bonafide superstar.

9. DAVID BENAVIDEZ – 29-0

A champion in two weight classes, at middleweight, and now up at light heavyweight as he recently won the interim WBC light heavyweight belt. He is the only fighter to openly chase Canelo, but seems avoided. He has a unique blend for his size of speed, punching power and endurance.

10. DEVIN HANEY – 31-0-1 nc

Many may scoff at this position following his loss to Ryan Garcia, but Garcia’s win was drug-aided, so I will not recognise it. Before that, Haney became the youngest fighter to be undisputed at lightweight and has held titles at super lightweight. But will need that Garcia rematch to put things right.

11. GILBERTO RAMIREZ – 47-1

One of the more underrated fighters on this list. A two-weight world champion after holding the WBO super middleweight title and is the current WBA & WBO cruiserweight title holder. His only blemish came when he challenged Bivol for the light heavyweight title but lost on points.

12. EMANUEL NAVARRETE – 39-2-1

A three-division world champion, he recently retained his WBO junior lightweight title with a superb sixth-round ko of Mexican rival Oscar Valdez in the rematch, after their close first fight, which he won on points. He has claimed titles in junior featherweight and featherweight.

13. TEOFIMO LOPEZ – 22-1

Lopez is a skilled performer with titles at lightweight, then moved up to light welterweight to dethrone Josh Tayler with ease. His only defeat was to Kombosas Jr, which he’ll want to get back. But with wins also over Lomachenko and Richard Commey and still only 27, it is very positive.

14. SHAKUR STEVENSON – 22-0

Another whose position might be questioned. His resume leaves much to be desired, but his boxing skills keep him in the conversation. However, his style does not endear him to the public. Despite that, he is the current WBC lightweight champion and won titles at three weight classes, but he needs a marquee fight/win.

15. JUNTO NAKATANI – 29-0

Nakatani is one of the more ferocious punchers in the lighter-weights and has won titles in three divisions, flyweight, junior bantamweight and is currently the WBC bantamweight champion. He has stopped 22 of his 29 opponents and could be heading for a Inoue superfight.

16. VASILIY LOMACHENKO – 18-3

His record is not fantastic, but he has held titles in three divisions. However, some may debate if he should be higher on this list or even, not on it. However, his recent 11th-round defeat of Kambosas Jr, to win the IBF lightweight title, at 36, puts him back in the conversation and many say his loss to Haney was debatable.

17. JARON ENNIS – 33-0-1 nc

“Boots” is one of the more exciting fighters with 29 stoppages in his 33 wins. The current IBF welterweight title holder has made a smooth transition from prospect to champion and boasts stoppage wins over David Avanesyan and Thomas Dulorme quicker than Crawford.

18. JANIBEK ALIMKHANULY – 16-0

He is the current unified WBO & IBF middleweight champion. The proverbial irremovable object, is a gruelling fighter with a superb gas tank that helps him push the pace on his opponents to overwhelm them. A steller amateur, he has taken to the proffessional ranks with ease becoming a champion in just twelve pro-fights.

19. FERNANDO MARTINEZ- 17-0

He recently held both the IBF & WBA super flyweight titles and is the current WBA champion. His two comfortable points victories over skilled fighter Jerwin Ancajas, to win, then retain the IBF title, thrust him into the limelight. He is due to defend his WBA title in a rematch with Kazuto Ioka.

20. ERISLANDY LARA – 31-3-3

He has been one of the most underrated boxers for over a decade. His three defeats came against Paul Williams, MD in 2011, a harsh Split decision defeat to Canelo in 2014, and a split decision to Jarrett Hurd in 2018. Since his last defeat, he has racked up six wins, winning, and then retaining the WBA light middleweight belt five times.

Just missing out…..

SEBASTION FUNDORA – 23-1-1
KENSHIR TERAJI – 25-1
JAI OPTAIA – 27-0
DANIEL DUBOIS – 24-2
DENYS BERINCHYK – 19-0
