WEEKLY AWARDS: MAY 25th 2025

TEAM: CHELSEA

On the final day of the season, it’s hard to judge performances as some are playing for more than others.

However, given the circumstances and what was at stake, Chelsea’s professional away win and clean sheet at Forest, which secured Champions League football, was the most impressive.

Well done to Brighton. Everton. Man City. West Ham. Man Utd. Bournemouth and Arsenal.

GOALKEEPER: JORDAN PICKFORD (Everton)

In a game where Newcastle had to win to be sure of Champions League football, and Everton was playing for nothing, the Everton keeper was always going to be busy.

However, it was a surprise how well he played as Newcastle tried, Pickford played like he was fighting for Champions League football and kept all of Newcastle’s efforts out with some impressive saves and an away clean sheet.

Shout out to Wolves’ Sa. Brentford’s Flekken. Liverpool’s Alisson and Newcastle’s Pope.

DEFENDER: LEVI COLWILL (Chelsea)

It was always going to be a tense and tough last day at Forest, needing not to lose to secure Champions League football.

However, it was a perfect defensive performance where Colwill was at the heart of. Not only did he help keep a clean sheet, but scored the goal that won them the game.

Well done to his teammate Tosin. Bournemouth duo Huijsen & Zabarnyi. Everton duo Mykolenko and O’Brien. Man City’s Nunez. West Ham duo Mavropanos & Todibo.

Forest duo Milenkovic & Murillo. Arsenal duo White & Tierney. Southampton’s Taylor. Brighton duo Igor & Wieffer. Man Utd’s Heaven and Brentford’s Van den Berg.

MIDFIELDER: JACK HINSHELWOOD (Brighton)

Despite playing against a drunk and celebrating Europa Cup Spurs team, it was an impressive performance from the 20-year-old who was playing in yet another position.

After scoring a late winner against Liverpool last week, he started as the number ten this week. Just the third position he has already played this season, he notched two lovely taken goals to sink Spurs.

Shout out to his teammates Gomez and O’Riley. Bournemouth duo Semenyo & Tavernier. Man City’s Gundogon. West Ham duo Ward-Prowse and Wan-Bissaka. Man Utd’s Amad.

Ipswich’s Broadhead. Palace duo Mitchell & Sarr. Everton duo Alcaraz & Garner. Chelsea’s Caicedo. Arsenal’s Odegaard. Wolves duo Munetsi & Joao Gomes, also Brentford’s Norgaard.

FORWARD: JARROD BOWEN (West Ham)

Whether he is playing as a striker or attacking midfield, he always turns up for West Ham and is, and has always been the talisman.

On the last day of the season, he was upfront and tormented relegated Ipswich, who will be happy to see the back of him as he once again scored, but also assisted the opener.

Well done to his teammate Kudus. Liverpool’s Salah. Man City’s Haaland. Spurs’ Solanke and Brentford’s Mbeumo.

MANAGER: ENZO MARESCA (Chelsea)

They had arguably the toughest game on the final day of the season, going to Forest needing to win to be guaranteed Champions League football.

His team went into the game, winning five of their last six and made it seven with a professional away performance to secure a win and guide the Premier League’s youngest squad ever to the Champions League.

Shout out also to Brighton’s Hurzeler. Man City’s Guardiola and Everton’s Moyes.

UNSUNG HERO: ANTOINE SEMENYO (Bournemouth)

Although Bournemouth did not qualify for Europe, it was still a memorable season for them and more so for Semenyo, who ended the season with a lovely double.

Both goals came in the second half. The first was a neat, quick-footed finish from just outside the six-yard box after the knockdown. His second was a rasping strike from outside the box, ending the season with an impressive eleven league goals.

Well done to his teammate Huijsen. Brentford’s Mbeumo. Man City’s Gundogan and Arsenal’s Tierney.

GAME: IPSWICH 1-3 WEST HAM

West Ham opened the scoring when Bowen took advantage of a bad back pass to slip in Ward-Prowse, who made no mistake (43).

In the second half, Ipswich equalised when Broadhead cut inside beautifully and lashed home from just outside the box (52). However, Bowen then put West Ham back ahead with a lovely move from the right and a powerful finish (55).

The points were secured late when Kudus rifled home from inside the box (87).

GOAL: MARSHALL MUNETSI (Wolves) vs Brentford

Straight from a goal kick, Sa sent the ball into the Brentford half. Larsen then rose highest to flick on into the path of Munetsi.

The midfielder started his run from inside his half and timed it perfectly to run onto the flick-on and hit a thunderous first-time shot that flew into the near top corner.

There were also very good goals from Brighton’s Gomez. Man City’s Gundogan and West Ham’s Bowen.

FOOL: EMILIANO MARTINEZ (Aston Villa)

In possibly his last game for the club, in a game where Villa needed to beat a hurting Man Utd to have a chance at qualifying for the Champions League.

As Hoijlund ran onto a through ball, Martinez came rushing out with no eyes on the ball. He took the player out and deservedly got his marching orders at the end of the first half. Although there was a controversial moment in the game. Man Utd scored two in the second half, causing Villa to lose out on Champions League football. FOOL!
