SEASON THIRTEEN

WEEK 5

In the Premier League, Brighton shocked champions Arsenal with a dominant 3-0 home win. Brentford brushed past Chelsea with their dominant 3-0 home win. Man City moved to the top of the table with a thrilling 5-3 home win over Sunderland.

Liverpool secured their second win of the season with a 1-0 win at Bournemouth. Coventry secured their first win and points of the season with a 1-0 away win at Notts Forest. Aston Villa sent Spurs to the bottom of the table with a 3-2 away win.

Newcastle gave Hull their first defeat of the season with a 2-1 home win. Everton maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 1-0 home win over Ipswich. Man Utd needed a late, deflected goal to snatch a 1-1 draw at Fulham, and Crystal Palace drew 0-0 at Leeds.

In the Fantasy League, for the second week in a row, Coach Simz, Simeon Edwards, is this week’s joint Highest Scorer, thanks to a very decent 69 point weekly score to open up a healthy lead at the top of the table. Doing the business were captain Haaland (12) Gross (14) Tarkowski (14) Virgil (8) Van Hecke (6) Le Fee (5), and Yirenkyi (3).

Some nineteen points behind in second is Owen Barnes, despite his decent 58 point week, with contributions from captain Haaland (12) Tarkowski (14) Gomez (8) Muharemovic (6) Ndiaye (5) Diop (4), and Guehi (4).

My middle son, Jahsiah T, remains in third place, seventeen points behind, following his weekly score of 48 points, due to captain Rogers (4) Cherki (8) Isak (8) Justin (8) Mitchell (7), and Haaland (6).

Moving up to fourth is two-time champ Jeff Franklin, despite his modest 43 point week. Mainly from captain Haaland (12) Mitchell (7) Mykalenko (5) Stach (5), and Damsgaard (3).

This sees my youngest son and former champ Latrell Oscar move down to fifth place with a disappointing weekly score of 28 points. His main contributions came from captain Haaland (12) and Dewsbury-Hall (3). Moving up to sixth, just a point behind, is Timothy Stigwood, with a decent 58 point weekly score, following captain Haaland (12) Semenyo (17) Isak (8), and Van Hecke (6).

Just three points behind was this week’s Highest Mover, Philippines native Jean Ninal. She moved up a mammoth 11 places, the joint 4th highest this season and joint 11th highest all-time, from 18th to 7th, with a very decent weekly score of 67 points. Thanks to a smart captain choice of Semenyo (34), also Cherki (8) Isak (8), and De Cuyper (6).

My oldest nephew, Tyrell Miles-Brown, moves up to eighth, just two points behind. He secured a 49 point week, with main contributions from vice-captain Haaland (12) Brobbey (17), and Cherki (8). Moving down to ninth, just a point behind is Sanjay Beecher, flying the flag for JA and USA. Due to a 47 point weekly score, with captain Haaland (12) Cherki (8) Kelleher (6) Belloumi (4), and Robertson (4).

Moving up into the top ten, just a point behind ninth is former champ (ahem) Charles Denton, following a very decent 61 point weekly score, thanks to captain Rogers (4) Semenyo (17) Cunha (10) Virgil (8) De Cuyper (6) Verbruggen (6), and Guehi (4). This week’s other joint Highest Scorer was Nordin Gharib, whose very decent 69 point week was thanks to captain Cherki (16) Tarkowski (14) Hall (13) Isak (8) Virgil (8), and Gakpo (3).

Sadly, we will embark on a long three-week international al break, the longest in history. So, I’ll see y’all in three weeks.
