ALTON LESTER INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON THIRTEEN
WEEK 9
This week in the Premier League, Arsenal got a first win at Anfield since 2012 as they beat Liverpool 1-0. Brighton got a shock 1-0 win at Man City. Chelsea beat a struggling Man Utd 2-0 at home.
Everton produced a very good 1-0 win at Newcastle. Bournemouth beat Leeds 2-0 at home. Tottenham continued their recent good form with a 2-0 home win over Crystal Palace. Brentford beat Notts Forest 2-0 at home.
Coventry heaped more misery on the bottom of the table Sunderland with a 3-1 home win. Ipswich drew 2-2 at Hull City and Fulham got a decent 1-1 draw at Aston Villa.
In the Fantasy League, we have a new league leader, albeit by just one point. Timothy Stigwood sneaked to the top of the league thanks to a superb 73 point weekly score, making him this week’s Highest Scorer. Doing the business were captain Haaland (4), Konsa (10), De Cuper (9), Evanilson (9), Jackson (9), Rogers (9), Palmer (8), Kinsky (6), and Vuskovic (6).
Coach Simz Simeon Edwards is still there in second place, I’m sure determined to reclaim the top spot, following his 50 point week. Due to the likes of captain Haaland (4), Van Hecke (15), Jackson (9), Tarkowski (6), and Raya (5).
Down into third place is Owen Barnes with a weekly score of 48 points. His main contribution came from captain Haaland (4), Rogers (9), Rice (8), Calafiori (6), Tarkowski (6), Raya (5), and Gomez (3).
Moving up to a Champions League spot in fourth is my youngest son and former champ Latrell Oscar, thanks to a very decent 65 point week, with captain Haaland (4), Konsa (10), Barry (9), Rogers (9), Le Fee (8), Palmer (8), Gabriel (6), and Raya (5) – but could have done without leaving Verbruggen (11) on the bench.
My middle son, Jahsiah Tobierrie, has moved down to fifth, just five points behind his brother, due to a disappointing 38 point weekly score, with his main contributions coming from captain Haaland (4), Rogers (9), Calafiori (6), Raya (5), Mitchell (3), and Odegaard (3). Former champ (ahem) Charles Denton moves up to sixth, due to a decent weekly score of 60 points, following captain Haaland (4), Barry (9), De Cuyper (9), Evanilson (9), Rogers (9), Rice (8), and Calafiori (6).
Also moving up is my oldest nephew Tyrell Miles-Brown, into seventh, with a decent 56 point week. Due to captain Haaland (4), De Cuyper (9), Rogers (9), Manzambi (7), Calafiori (6), Van de Ven (6), Belloumi (5), and Raya (5). Sanjay Beecher, flying the flag for JA & USA, remains in eighth, following his weekly score of 56 points, with captain Jackson (18), Rogers (9), Robertson (8), Belloumi (5), and Neto (3).
Two-time champ Jeff Franklin moves down to ninth, just two points behind, due to his modest weekly score of 40 points. His contributions came from captain Haaland (4), Rogers (9), Calafiori (6), Kinsky (6), Gomez (3), and Tavernier (3). In joint tenth is firstly Simon Sebhat, with a modest 43 point week, following vice captain Raya (10), Rogers (9), Rice (8), and Gabriel (6).
Also into joint tenth is my oldest son, under his alias Tommy Devito, who moved up six places from 16th, making him this week’s Highest Mover, thanks to a very decent 63 point wildcard weekly score. His contributions came from captain Evanilson (18), De Cuyper (9), Rogers (9), Gabriel (6), Tarkowski (6), and Raya (5).
Full steam ahead to week 10, which starts on Friday and will be the last week before we go into another international break. Make it count, y’all.
