Bio: This is one for when you are building a team with not much money to spend. Typically, as a German, I have to comment on how efficient he is.

You wont get a spectacular, skillful, goal scoring full back. What you will get is a solid, consistent, defenders, defender who is excellent in the air and an asset at both ends of the pitch.

Originally bought him for £2m as a back up right back but such was his consistency, he became first choice and even developed into a very useful wing back.

Mainly because his two strongest assets were his stamina and crossing, which helped to create a decent amount of goals.

He rarely got flustered and seemed to enjoy playing the “bigger” games. Such was his efficiency he even had stints at centre back and left back. Was capped over 20 times for the German under 21’s and eventually made it into the German national team.
