Football really is a funny old game.

Football crazyFootball really is a funny old game.

As the new football season draws ever so closer, everyone starts to get a bit excited around this time of year.

Judging by the summer’s activities, it seems not only are the fans losing it, but football itself is going crazy. If the recent events are anything to go by, this coming season will definitely be one to remember.

Firstly, Man City wrapped up another massive transfer coup, purchasing Montenegrin striker Stevan Jovetic from Fiorentina for £25m. This is adding to Fernandinho £30m, Jesus Navas £15m and Alvaro Negredo £20.m for a massive £90m plus price on just four players.

Scott Sinclair

Will Sinclair get games for City

How crazy is that? Now what does that mean for Englishman Scott Sinclair? After securing a £5m move a year ago he has only played a handful of games.

With only the likes of Tevez gone and four new big money players coming in, again I can hardly see this once, bright young English talent getting a look in.

Speaking of bright young English talents, this summer saw two young tournaments show once again, England are falling behind the rest of the world when it comes to youth football development.

The under 21’s finished bottom of their group in the Euro’s as did the under 20’s in the world cup. Both teams failed to win a game in their groups, the under 21’s lost all three. With the money that’s being spent on foreign talent it don’t bold well for the future of English football.

To make it a momentous hat-trick for English football this summer, the English women went crashing out at the group stages in Euro 2013 finishing bottom of their group. Tut tut.

Germany women

Germany continue to dominate woman’s football

The Germany women eventually won the tournament for a sixth time in a row. Crazy!

There were a few crazy things about that tournament. Denmark reached the semi-finals without winning a single game. They were also a penalty kick away from reaching the final.

What was more crazy, is they got into the quarter finals by drawing lots with Russia for the best third place team in the group stages. Even though they had 1 goal less goal difference, how primitive is that?

Back on the transfer news, already under fire from two friendly defeats in Asia, David Moyes has put the cat amongst the pigeons by putting in two bids for Cesc Fabregas.

CescMaybe it’s just me but this has to be the craziest piece of new of all.

First of all everyone knows Fabregas has an unrivalled love for Arsenal, why would United think he would leave his home town club to sign for them? Not to mention play at The Emirates against Arsenal. That’s too crazy to even think about eh Gooners?

Apparently, if that falls through Moyes will use all his contacts to bring in Arsenal target Fellaini. Though there is still a month until the end of the transfer window, it is crazy that United has not made a significant transfer yet.

Watch this space I guess.

What could be the most craziest transfer news concerning United is possibly Wayne Rooney’s departure. He is obviously unsettled, Chelsea and Mourinho have made it clear they want him but it would be weird to see him in a Chelsea shirt. If he was to leave I expect to see him abroad somewhere, possibly.

And finally….

Suarez sagaThe on again off again Luis Suarez saga seems to be never-ending. After hearing news that Liverpool had to react to any offer over £40m, Arsenal’s either ingenious or ludicrous idea of offering £1 over the £40m price tag has gone down like a lead balloon. Some say it is typical of Mr Wenger’s tight, non-spending, miser ways.

To be honest, I can’t see Liverpool selling their top striker to one of their rivals. They are trying to occupy the position that Arsenal are in, how will they do that if they weaken their team and make Arsenal stronger?

I think Arsenal and Mr Wenger needs to realise that selling their best players to their rivals is an Arsenal trait and nobody else’s.

Let’s hope those words don’t come back to haunt me come end of August. Lol
