I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON FOUR
WEEK 3
As we unfortunately head into our first, boring international break. As with the likes of Man Utd and Liverpool, some teams have really signalled their intent this week.
Joe Hilditch returned to the top of the table following a week off the top, with a mammoth 79 points. He was also this weeks highest scorer by a considerable margin. He can thank a masterstroke of captaining Firmino, who provided 24 points. As well as Salah’s 11 points. Morata’s 12 points and defensive contributions from Man Utd’s Jones (7) and Chelsea’s Courtois (6). Joe has now opened up a lead of 28 points at the top.
It’s very tight in the chasing pack behind him. In second, comes last weeks highest scorer Jay J Mensah. He can thank captain Mane’s 16 points. Salah’s 11 points and defensive contributions with 6 points from both David Luis and Southampton’s Bertrand for a 54 point haul. In third, only three points behind but moving down one, comes Issa Banka. With contributions from Alli (9 points) captain Eriksen (6 points) and defensive points from Man Utd trio Blind (6) Bailly (6) and De Gea (7).
Only a further two points behind, making up the Champions League places comes last weeks league leader Lee Barratt. With contributions from Dele Alli. Mane. David Luiz and Man Utd’s Bailly. In fifth and this weeks highest mover, making his first appearance in the top ten is Timothy Stigwood. Doing the business, helping him move up eight places, was Man City’s Jesus (9) Alli. Mane and a quartet of defensive points. First from Bournemouth’s Daniels with that goal of the season contender. Also Southampton’s Cedric (6). Man City’s Danilo (6) and Watford’s Gomez in goal. For a superb 61 points.
In sixth place comes Mr Ever present Jeff Franklin. With Alli, Mane and a surprise clean sheet and assist from Swansea’s Naughton with 12 points. Last season’s runner-up Emmanuel Ogana is in seventh, thanks to a 50 point haul with contributions from Firmino, Mane and Bournemouth’s Daniels. In eighth, is Mr Kool FM himself Pressure X. Helped by Daniels. Man Utd’s Rashford (6) and an assist and clean sheet from Chelsea’s Azpilicueta who provided 12 points.
With the same points but in 9th and 10th respectively comes (I call him Bryan Robson) Ibrahim Gullu. Whose main contributors were Salah, Naughton and Southampton’s Forster with points for a clean sheet, maximum bonus and six saves, giving him 11. And representing Tanzania Feliz Brown. With points from Firmino. The midfield quartet of Mane. Mkhitaryan (5). David Silva (6). and captain Eriksen (6). Also defensive points from Cedric. Huddersfield’s Zanka (6) and De Gea with 7 points.
That’s it for this week. No fantasy for two weeks sadly…. I can almost smell the anticipation of wildcards about to be played, as a result of all the last-minute transfer dealings. Enjoy the deadline day festivities. See you all on the other side of the international break!
