I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON SEVEN
WEEK 3
This week in the Premier League, Leicester shocked Man City, scoring five in an impressive 5-2 away win. Liverpool brushed Arsenal aside 3-1 at home. Man Utd scored the latest goal ever in the Premier League, with a penalty after the final whistle, to beat Brighton 3-2 away. Everton made it three wins from three, as they beat Crystal Palace 2-1 away with the help of a dubious penalty for handball. West Ham destroyed Wolves 4-0 at home. Aston Villa beat Fulham 3-0 away. Leeds scored a late goal to beat Sheff Utd away in a Yorkshire derby. Southampton beat Burnley 1-0 away. Chelsea came back from three goals down in the first half to draw 3-3 at WBA. Also, Newcastle got an extremely dubious and harsh penalty for handball, to get a last minute 1-1 draw at Tottenham.
In a relatively low scoring ITYIFL, the defending champion Jeff Franklin has asserted his dominance early by moving to the top of the table. This is following a very decent 58 point week, where he can thank the likes of Fernandes (12) Ings (9) Bamford (8) Alexander-Arnold (7) Walker-Peters (6) and McCarthy (6).
My Arsenal mate Mr James moves up into second, thanks to a 47 point week. His contributions came from C.Wilson (8) Alexander-Arnold (7) Calvert-Lewin (6) Digne (6) Martinez (6) Salah (5). Lee Barratt also moves up, into third, thanks to a 49 point week. This was due to Vardy (17) Bamford (8) Calvert-Lewin (6) and Salah (5).
Timothy Stigwood moves down into fourth, following a disappointing weekly score of 34 points. His only real contributions came from captain Calvert-Lewin (12) Mane (7) and Castagne (4). My oldest mate Delroy Preddie moves up into fifth with a decent 56 point week. Thanks to the likes of Robertson (10) Ings (9) C.Wilson (8) Alexander-Arnold (7) Cresswell (7) and Tielemans (6).
Perennial top ten man Danny Milton remains in sixth place, thanks to a decent weekly score of 52 points. This was due to Fernandes (12) Ings (9) Bamford (8) Calvert-Lewin (6) and Digne (6). My long time friend Francis Norville moves down into seventh, and will be upset with his 37 point week, where only Alexander-Arnold (7) Calvert-Lewin (6) Tielemans (6) and Digne (6) provided any significant points.
Also moving down, into eighth is my youngest son and former champ Latrell Oscar following a weekly score of 42 points. This was due to the likes of Richarlison (8) C.Wilson (8) Digne (6) Martinez (6) and Kane (5). My oldest nephew Tyrell Miles-Brown moves up into ninth, following a wildcard weekly score of 44 points. Thanks to Ings (9) Bamford (8) Alexander-Arnold (7) Calvert-Lewin (6) and McCarthy (6).
It’s a family affair in the top ten, as also moving up into joint ninth, but tenth for the purpose of this, is my blood brother Wayne Watson. This was thanks to a weekly score of 45 points, with contributions mainly from Ings (9) Richarlison (8) Mane (7) and Tielemans (6). This weeks Highest Scorer was my right hand man Tyrone Brown with, given the circumstances, a very decent 62 point week, after taking a massive gamble with five transfers. His points were mainly thanks to captain Vardy (34) C.Wilson (8) and Alexander-Arnold (7).
This weeks Highest Mover was Owen Barnes, who moved up five places from 22nd to 17th, thanks to a weekly score of 55 points. Doing the business were Vardy (17) Fernandes (12) Bamford (8) and Alexander-Arnold (7).
Full steam ahead to week 4. Make it count ya’ll…..
