I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON EIGHT
WEEK 22
This, in another fractured Premier League week. Man City beat Chelsea 1-0 at home. Leeds surprised West Ham beating them 3-2 away. Norwich also surprised Everton, beating them 2-1 at home, which signalled the end of Rafa Benitez. Liverpool strolled past Brentford 3-0 at home. A record was broken as Spurs came from 2-1 down to score two goals in stoppage time to beat Leicester 3-2 away, making it the latest a team has been losing to come back and win. Man Utd beat Brentford 3-1 away. Wolves beat Southampton 3-1 at home. Brighton had two draws, y firstly 1-1 at home to Crystal Palace, then 1-1 at home to Chelsea. Aston Villa drew 1-1 at home to Man Utd and Newcastle drew 1-1 at home to Watford.
In the ITYIFL, defending champion Danny Milton has a certain Man City aura about him, as he seems to be running away with it and strolling to back to back titles. He scored another superb weekly score of 74 points, giving him a massive 123 point lead. Doing the business were captain Bowen (14) Kane (11) Cancelo (11) Alexander-Arnold (10) and Coady (9).
Remaining in second is my youngest son and former champ Latrell Oscar, who didn’t have the best of weeks’ with a modest weekly score of 48 points. His contributions came mainly from Alexander-Arnold (10) Gallagher (9) Maupay (6) and Cucurella (5). Another former champ Jeff Franklin remains in third, following a decent free hit 68 point week. This was thanks to Fernandes (23) Kane (11) De Gea (8) Bowen (7) and Cucurella (5).
Natalie Holder remains in the Champions League places and continues her recent good form thanks to a decent 63 point weekly score. This was due to the likes of captain Mount (6) Cancelo (11) Alexander-Arnold (10) Gallagher (9) Laporte (7) and Bowen (7). The first bit of movement in the top ten sees my old work colleague Mr James move up into fifth, due to a 63 point week, thanks to captain Bowen (14) De Bruyne (11) Cancelo (11) Alexander-Arnold (10) and Williams (6).
Also moving up, into sixth is Washington DC’s Greg Cabana, thanks to a very decent, free hit, 70 point weekly score. His contributions came from Greenwood (13) Kane (11) Alexander-Arnold (10) De Gea (8) Maddison (8) and Cucurella (5). This sees Sanjay Beecher move down to seventh, following a weekly score of 45 points, due to captain Jota (6) Alexander-Arnold (10) Bowen (7) and Maupay (6).
Tommy Lee remains in eighth place, following a decent weekly score of 61 points. This was thanks to captain Bowen (14) Cancelo (11) Alexander-Arnold (10) and Gallagher (9). Also maintaining his position in ninth, is Owen Barnes due to his 53 point week, with contributions from captain Jota (6) Cancelo (11) Alexander-Arnold (10) Coady (9) and Gallagher (9).
After a relatively poor few weeks, my coaching partner Francis Norville moves back up into the top ten, despite his modest 48 point weekly score. This was mainly due to Cancelo (11) Alexander-Arnold (10) and Gallagher (9). This week’s Highest Scorer was Lee Barratt with an excellent free hit, 78 point week. Which also made him this week’s Highest Scorer as he moved up three places from 18th to 15th. Doing the business were mainly captain Kane (22) Fernandes (23) De Gea (8) and Maupay (6).
Full steam ahead to week 23, make it count y’all.
