I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON EIGHT
WEEK 29
This, in a very interesting Premier league week and a bit. Man Utd beat Spurs 3-2 at home thanks to a Ronaldo hat-trick. Wolves beat Everton 1-0 away. West Ham beat Aston Villa 2-1 at home. Champions League chasing Arsenal beat Leicester 2-0 at home. Liverpool went to Brighton and beat them by the same score. Watford surprised Southampton beating them 2-1 away. Chelsea needed a late goal to beat Newcastle 1-0 at home. Brentford beat Burnley 2-0 at home. Leeds got their new manager a first win as they beat Norwich 2-1 at home and Palace made the title race even more interesting as they drew 0-0 at home to Man City.
Then in midweek, Liverpool put the title back in their hands as they beat Arsenal 2-0 away. Spurs helped their Champions League hopes as they beat Brighton 2-0 away and 10-man Everton got a much needed 1-0 win at home to Newcastle.
In the ITYIFL, with the weeks now running out, it’s looking more likely that defending champion Danny Milton will be the back to back champion, baring a monumental and catastrophic collapse. He kept his lead healthy with a decent 94 point week thanks to captain Salah (20) Robertson (18) Kane (14) Kulusevski (11) Martinelli (8) Doherty (7) Mendy (6) and Raphinha (5).
My old work colleague Mr James remains in second, but closed the gap slightly with a very decent 104 point weekly score. This was due to the likes of triple captain Kane (42) Robertson (18) Salah (10) Lacazette (8) Doherty (7) Sa (6) and Saka (5). Sanjay Beecher remains in third, putting a little distance from fourth, following his weekly score of 87 points. His contributions came from captain Salah (20) Kane (14) Alexander-Arnold (13) Kulusevski (11) Doherty (7) Havertz (7) Saka (5) and Sanchez (5).
Washington DC’s Greg Cabana remains in the Champions League places, following a modest 65 point weekly score. This was due to captain Salah (20) Alexander-Arnold (13) Doherty (7) Rudiger (5) Saka (5) and Sanchez (5). Former champ Jeff Franklin remains in fifth, but closed the distance on fourth due to his 77 point week. With contributions from captain Salah (20) Kane (14) Alexander-Arnold (13) Cancelo (9) Raphinha (5) Saka (9) and Sanchez (5).
This week’s Highest Scorer, storming up into sixth is my old football club mate Darren Ahmet. The February manager of the month is on course to make it back to back manager of the month’s, thanks to an excellent weekly score of 107 points. Doing the business were captain Kane (28) Van Dijk (14) Alexander-Arnold (13) Kulusevski (11) Ramsdale (10) Salah (10) Martinelli (8) Rudiger (5) and Saka (5). This was thanks to captain Salah (20) Robertson (18) Alexander-Arnold (13) Ramsdale (10) White (8) Tierney (7) and Raphinha (5).
Natalie Holder moves down to eighth, following her relatively disappointing 58 point week, with contributions coming mainly from captain Salah (20) Cancelo (9) Gabriel (7) Laporte (6) and Saka (5). Also moving down, to ninth is Nordin Gharib, with a weekly score of 87 points. This was due to the likes of captain Salah (20) Kane (14) Alexander-Arnold (13) Martinelli (8) Doherty (7) Jota (7) Saiss (6) and Sanchez (5).
Making up the top ten by just a solitary point is Lee Barratt, this was due to a 92 point weekly score, thanks to captain Salah (20) Alexander-Arnold (13) Ramsdale (10) Cancelo (9) White (8) Jota (7) Dier (6) Laporte (6) Pukki (5) and Saka (5). This week’s Highest Mover was Natalie Stigwood, she moved up four places from 18th to 14th, thanks to hitting the three digit mark with a 100 point weekly score. Doing the business were captain Kane (28) Alisson (15) Alexander-Arnold (13) Benrahma (11) Cancelo (9) Reguilon (9) and Jota (7)
