I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON NINE
WEEK 10
This week in the Premier League, Liverpool surprised all to hand Man City their first league defeat of the season in 1-0 win at Anfield. Chelsea needed heroics from their keeper to squeeze past Aston Villa away 2-0. League leaders Arsenal just about left Elland road with a 1-0 win against Leeds. Tottenham beat Everton 2-0 at home. Brentford beat Brighton at home by the same score, also Wolves beat Notts Forest 1-0 at home. Fulham came back twice to draw 2-2 at home with Bournemouth. West Ham drew 1-1 at Southampton. Newcastle drew 0-0 at Man Utd, and at the King Power Stadium, Crystal Palace and Leicester also played out a 0-0 draw.
In the ITYIFL, although the average points tally was pretty modest for this week. The league leader Natalie Stigwood still managed to stretch her lead at the top, which now stands at 78, thanks to a very decent weekly score of 58. This was due to Toney (12) Kane (9) Schar (8) Pope (6) and Trippier (6).
Jeff Franklin remains in second place following his 53 point weekly score. His main contributions came from Ramsdale (10) Dalot (9) Mitrovic (7) Trippier (6) and Andreas (5). My old football clubmate Darren Ahmet remains third due to a weekly score of 41 points. His only real contributions came from Raya (10) Trippier (6) and Saliba (5).
Ominously moving up into a Champions League place is the double champ, Danny Milton. Thanks to a very decent 59 point weekly score. This was due to a smart captain pick of Kane (18) Raya (10) Dalot (9) and Trippier (6). The first of this week’s three Highest Movers is my recent former work colleague Abdul Rahman, who moved up three places from 8th to 5th, due to his very decent 57 point week. Thanks to Ramsdale (10) Kane (9) Perisic (8) Trippier (6) Andreas (5) and Chilwell (5).
This sees my oldest nephew Tyrell Miles-Brown move down to sixth place, following his disappointing weekly score of 37 points. His only real contributions came from Guiata (11) and Saliba (5). My long-time mate Bob Maroon stays in seventh, with a 44 point weekly score. This was due to Ramsdale (10) Kane (9) Dier (6) and Saliba (5).
My coaching partner Francis Norville moves up to eighth, thanks to a decent 49 point week. This was due to the likes of Ramsdale (10) Salah (8) Henry (6) and Trippier (6). The second of this week’s joint Highest Movers is another former work colleague Mr James, who moved up three places from 12th to 9th, thanks to his very decent weekly score of 55 points. This was mainly due to a brave and smart captain pick of Toney (24) also Raya (10) and Trippier (6).
Moving down but remaining in the top ten by two points, and just one point behind ninth, is Owen Barnes, following his 46 point weekly score. His contributions came from Ramsdale (10) Perisic (8) Mitrovic (7) and Trippier (6). This week’s joint Highest Scorer is first, Washington DC’s Greg Cabana, thanks to an excellent 71 point week. Doing the business was Sa (14) Solanke (12) Salah (8) Mitrovic (7) Johnny (6) Mee (6) and White (6).
Secondly, my oldest mate Delroy Preddie also had an excellent 71 point week. (although not enough to lift him off the bottom of the table) This was thanks to captain Salah (16) Alisson (14) Saka (9) Mitrovic (7) Thiago Silva (7) and Trippier (6). The third of this week’s joint Highest Movers is Sanjay Beecher. He moved up three places from 17th to 14th due to a very decent weekly score of 64 points. Thanks to a brave and smart pick of captain Kane (18) Raya (10) Salah (8) Trippier (6) Andreas (5) and Saliba (5).
If you didn’t do well this game week, luckily, there is no time to dwell, as it’s a quick turnaround to midweek games. Make it count y’all.
