PLAYER NO119
Name: Gabriel Barbosa
Original Team: Flamengo (Fla – Brazil)
Best Position: Striker
Best Attribute: Finishing / Off the ball / Penalty Taking
Bio: I was impressed with this player. “Gabi goal” is what I affectionately named him. He is a prolific goal scorer and someone who can play as a lone striker, in a two or a front three.
Mainly because one of his best attributes was his movement off the ball, something I loved about him. He always seemed find space or an extra yard in and around the box to have an effort on goal.
He is 24 when the game starts and playing in Brazil, so I would advise going after him immediately. If it’s further down the line, I would still advise to get him.
He will go through some real purple patches, where he would score in consecutive games. Another plus is he is an accomplished penalty taker.
However, he can be quite a volatile/fiery character, but I felt this added to his passion and commitment. It was as much of a plus as a negative but also something to keep an eye on.
If there was a negative, it could be if your team is not playing well, he is prone to a sulk and needs a strong man manager.
However, he became a regular for Brazil, and for his goal-scoring abilities, he is worth taking a chance on, especially if you are a team looking to break into the top tier of football.
