I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON NINE
WEEK 27
This week in the Premier League. Arsenal went eight points clear at the top as they brushed Crystal Palace aside 4-0 at home. Aston Villa brushed Bournemouth aside at home 3-0. Newcastle needed a late penalty to beat Notts Forest 2-1 away. Leeds beat Wolves 4-2 away in a fiery and controversial game. Everton got a late equaliser to draw 2-2 at Chelsea. Southampton got an even later, but somewhat controversial penalty to draw 3-3 at home with Spurs and Leicester drew 1-1 at Brentford.
In the ITYFL, with only seven games this week, it was always going to be a low scoring one, so captain choices were pivotal. With just 10 game week’s remaining, double champ Danny Milton is now on course for an unprecedented 3peat, as he leads the league by 15 points, due to his decent 50 point weekly score. Thanks to captain Toney (4) Saka (18) Martinelli (7) Kane (6) and Watkins (5).
The table has a very familiar look to it as former champ Jeff Franklin moves up into second place, following his 54 point week. This was due to captain Kane (12) Saka (18) Martinelli (7) Watkins (5) and Summerville (4). This sees long time league leader Natalie Stigwood move down to third, due to a weekly score of 42 points. With contributions mainly from vice-captain Kane (12) Saka (18) and White (5).
Washington DC’s Greg Cabana moves up into a Champions League place, thanks to his 51 point week. Due to captain Kane (12) Saka (18) Buendia (8) and White (6). My recent former work colleague Abdul Rahman moves down to fifth, following his 42 point weekly score. His main contributions came from vice-captain Kane (12) Saka (18) Watkins (5).
Yours Truly moved up to sixth place, due to my decent weekly score of 58 points. I can thank key contributions from captain Saka (38) and Kane (6). Philippines native Jean Ninal moves down to seventh following her somewhat disappointing 38 point week. With contributions from captain Toney (4) Douglas Luiz (11) Martinelli (7) and Kane (6).
Remaining in eighth, making up some ground due to a decent 54 point weekly score is Sanjay Beecher. He can thank captain Kane (12) Saka (18) Son (5) Watkins (5) and Maddison (4). Also, remaining in ninth is my football clubmate Darren Ahmet due to his 45 point week. Following contributions from captain Kane (12) Saka (18) and Martinelli (7).
This week’s joint Highest Mover was another former colleague and another happy Arsenal man Mr James. He moved up two places from 12th into the top ten, thanks, given the circumstances, to an excellent 73 point weekly score. Which also made him this week’s joint Highest Scorer. Doing the business was captain Saka (36) Martinelli (7) Cash (6) Kane (6) Watkins (5) and Maddison (4). This week’s other joint Highest Scorer was RMC 666, whose equally excellent 73 point week was thanks to captain Saka (36) Havertz (8) Martinelli (7) Trossard (5) Watkins (5) and Maddison (4).
This week’s other joint Highest Mover was my oldest son, under his alias Tommy Devito, whose 51 point week moved him up two places from 18th to 16th. Thanks mainly and exclusively to captain Saka (36).
Sadly, we have an international break. So, see y’all in two weeks.
