This week in the Premier League. Man City came from a goal down at home to brush Liverpool aside 4-1. Arsenal also brushed Leeds aside 4-1 at home. Bournemouth boosted their relegation hopes with a 2-1 home win against Fulham. Newcastle boosted their Champions league hopes with a 2-0 home win over Man Utd. Aston Villa got an impressive 2-0 win at Chelsea. Crystal Palace beat Leicester at home with the last kick of the game. West Ham beat Southampton at home 1-0. Brighton came from behind three times to draw 3-3 at home with Brentford. Forest drew 1-1 at home with Wolves and Goodison park saw two red cards and a wonder goal as Everton got a late equaliser to draw 1-1 with Spurs.
Then in midweek, Newcastle destroyed West Ham away 5-1. Aston Villa got a late goal to beat Leicester 2-1. Leeds beat Notts Forest 2-1 at home. Brighton comfortably beat Bournemouth 2-0 away, and at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea and Liverpool played out their fourth 0-0 draw in a row.
In the ITYIFL, as I stated before the international break. It is the business end of the season, and the experienced heads are really flexing their muscle. The 3peat is on as double champ Danny Milton has really kicked into gear at the right time. He had a very impressive and intelligent bench boost 136 point week, to make him this week’s Highest Scorer. Also recording the highest score this season and putting him joint 11th with himself, on the all-time scorers list that he leads. Doing the business was captain March (16) Watkins (17) Trippier (14) Rashford (12) Schar (11) Toney (11) Raya (8) and Kane (7). Then off the bench Mitoma (14) Chilwell (9) and Kepa (8).
As also stated before the international break. Its a familiar look to the league. Former champ and March manager of the month Jeff Franklin, is just 19 points behind in second, and gearing up for another epic title run in. He had an excellent bench boost weekly score of 128 points. Which is the second highest score this season and puts him 15th on the all-time scorers list. Thanks to captain Rashford (24) Watkins (17) Mitoma (14) Trippier (14) Toney (11) March (8) Raya (8) Estupinan (7) and Kane (7). Then off the bench Sa (6) and Martinelli (5). Moving up to joint third, also giving a familiar look to the league is Washington DC’s Greg Cabana, thanks to his impressive 101 point weekly score. With contributions from captain Mitoma (28) Trippier (14) Rashford (12) Toney (11) Buendia (9) Kane (7) Castagne (6) Odegaard (6) and Sa (6).
In joint third, but down to fourth for the purpose of this is former long-time league leader Natalie Stigwood, with a not too shabby weekly score of 96 points. This was due to captain Rashford (24) Trippier (14) De Bruyne (13) Toney (11) Pope (8) White (8) Kane (7) and Andreas (6). Remaining in fifth is my recent former work colleague Abdul Rahman with his very decent 97 point weekly score. Due to captain Rashford (24) Watkins (17) Trippier (14) Schar (11) March (8) Estupinan (7) and Kane (7).
This week’s joint Highest Mover was Sanjay Beecher, who moved up two places from 8th to 6th, due to his decent 92 point week. This was thanks to captain Mitoma (28) Rashford (12) Toney (11) Raya (8) White (8) Estupinan (7) Kane (7) and Odegaard (6). Moving down the seventh is Yours Truly. Given the circumstances, I had a somewhat disappointing 78 point weekly score. My main contributions came from captain Mac Allister (18) Mitoma (14) Rashford (12) Chilwell (9) Kane (7) and Odegaard (6). However, I will rue leaving 14 point Trippier on the bench.
Also moving down to eighth is Philippines native Jean Ninal following a weekly score of 70 points. Her contributions came from captain March (16) Rashford (12) Toney (11) Chilwell (9) Kane (7) and Martinelli (5). In ninth, clawing his way back into contention is my old football club mate and happy Arsenal man Darren Ahmet, with an impressive 105 point week. Which is the joint 10th highest score this season. Thanks to captain Mitoma (28) Trippier (14) Rashford (12) Toney (11) Kepa (8) March (8) Fofana (7) Kane (7) and Martinelli (5).
Consolidating his top ten position is my old work colleague and another happy Arsenal man Mr James, with a very decent 106 point weekly score. The ninth highest this season. He can thank contributions from captain Isak (16) Watkins (17) Mitoma (14) Trippier (14) Toney (11) Chilwell (9) Raya (8) Estupinan (7) and Martinelli (5). This week’s other two joint Highest Movers were firstly, my coaching partner Francis Norville. He moved up two places from 19th to 17h thanks to a very decent 96 point week. With contributions from captain Toney (22) Trippier (14) De Bruyne (13) Rashford (12) Schar (11) Raya (8 Odegaard (6) and Trossard (5).
Also, Nordin Gharib, whose excellent 109 point weekly score is the 8th highest this season and moves him up two places from 20th to 18th. Thanks to captain Rashford (24) Mitoma (14) Trippier (14) Toney (11) Chilwell (9) Koulibaly (9) March (8) Pope (8) and Estupinan (7).
Its quick turnaround to this weekend’s games. Happy Easter and make it count y’all.
