I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON NINE
WEEK 29
This week in the premier league, Crystal Palace put in a thrilling second-half display to destroy Leeds away 5-1. Spurs beat Brighton 2-1 at home in a highly controversial game. Newcastle got a credible 2-1 away win at Brentford. Man City cruised past Southampton away 4-1. Wolves piled more misery on Chelsea with a 1-0 home win. In a real six-pointer. Bournemouth beat struggling Leicester away 1-0. West Ham got a much-needed win as they beat Fulham away 1-0. Man Utd beat Everton 2-0 at home. Aston Villa beat Notts Forest at home by the same score, and in one of the games of the season, Liverpool came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Arsenal at Anfield.
In the ITYIFL, double champ Danny Milton remains on top of the pile, and although the 3peat is still on, his lead at the top has been cut to just eight points following his decent 59 point weekly score. His contributions came mainly from captain Haaland (24) Kane (9) Watkins (7) and Rashford (6).
Hot on his heels in second is former champ Jeff Franklin, who resumes rivalry and is looking to make it 2-2 for titles in the last four years with the league leader. He had a very decent 66 point week, thanks to captain Haaland (24) Martinelli (13) Kane (9) Watkins (7) and Rashford (6). Natalie Stigwood is hoping to find some form as she moves back up to third following her very decent 69 point weekly score. Due to the likes of captain Haaland (24) Pope (11) De Bruyne (9) Kane (9) Rashford (6) and Toney (4).
This sees Washington DC’s Greg Cabana move down to fourth, despite his decent 64 point week. This was due to captain Haaland (24) Kane (9) Watkins (7) Rashford (6) and Sa (6). My recent former work colleague Abdul Rahman remains in fifth, with a weekly score of 53 points, following contributions from captain Rashford (12) Haaland (12) Kane (9) and Watkins (7).
After a few modest weeks, this week’s joint Highest Mover, Philippines native Jean Ninal moves up two places from 8th to 6th with an excellent 80 point weekly score. Thanks to captain Martinelli (26) Grealish (12) Haaland (12) Kane (9) Rashford (6) Henry (5) and Toney (4). This sees Sanjay Beecher move down to seventh, following his weekly score of 54 points, due to captain Watkins (14) Haaland (12) Kane (9) and Rashford (6).
Going through a rough patch at the moment is Yours Truly. I moved down to eighth following another disappointing week where I scored a modest 49 points. My contributions came from Haaland (12) Kane (9) Watkins (7) Rashford (6) and Sa (6). Closing the distance on me in ninth is my old football clubmate Darren Ahmet, who had a very decent 72 point week. Thanks to captain Haaland (24) Martinelli (13) Kane (9) Mings (6) Rashford (6) and Toney (4).
This week’s Highest Scorer was Timothy Stigwood. He moved up into the top ten thanks to a superb weekly score of 87 points. Doing the business was captain Haaland (24) Martinelli (13) Pope (11) De Bruyne (9) Kane (9) March (7) and Martinez (7). This week’s other joint Highest Mover was my blood brother Wayne Watson. He moved up two places from 22nd to 20th, thanks to his very decent 68 point week. This was due to captain Haaland (24) Martinelli (13) Kane (9) Dunk (8) and Toney (4).
Full steam ahead to week 30, make it count y’all.
