I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON NINE
WEEK 36
This week in the Premier League, Notts forest beat Arsenal 1-0 at home, which allowed Man City to win the Premier League title before they beat Chelsea 1-0 at home. Brentford scored three second half goals to beat Spurs away 3-1. Man Utd beat Bournemouth 1-0 away. West Ham beat Leeds 3-1 at home. Brighton beat Southampton at home 3-1. Newcastle drew 0-0 at home to Leicester to secure a Champions League place. Fulham drew 2-2 at home to Crystal Palace. Everton got a 99th minute equaliser to draw 1-1 at Wolves, to leave their league survival in their hands. Liverpool drew 1-1 at home to Villa to virtually end their slim Champions League hopes. Then in midweek, Brighton drew 1-1 at home to Man City to confirm a Europa League spot and Man Utd brushed past Chelsea 4-1 at home to confirm a place in the Champions League.
In the ITYFL, the Premier League title is wrapped up but this one is going right to the wire. It’s still not a forgone conclusion who will be crowned champions on Sunday, but league leader Jeff Franklin is in the driving seat following his decent 69 point weekly score, thanks to captain Haaland (12) Shaw (10) Trippier (9) Kane (7) Mitoma (7) Rashford (7) Mac Allister (6) Estupinan (4) and Raya (4).
However, breathing down his neck, just 16 points behind is Washington DC’s Greg Cabana with his weekly score of 66 points. Due to the likes of captain Haaland (12) De Gea (10) Shaw (10) Kane (7) Mitoma (7) Mac Allister (6) Mahrez (5) and Estupinan (4). In third, despite a very decent 72 point week, it looks as though double champ Danny Milton will fail in his efforts to make it a 3peat. However, he can thank the likes of captain Haaland (12) De Gea (10) Shaw (10) Kane (7) Mitoma (7) Rashford (7) Mac Allister (6) Mahrez (5) and Estupinan (4).
Moving up to the Champions League spots in fourth is Sanjay Beecher, following his very decent wildcard weekly 74 point score. Thanks to captain Haaland (12) Fernandes (11) De Gea (10) Enciso (8) Lindelof (8) Kane (7) Mac Allister (6) Salah (5) and Estupinan (4). This sees Philippines native Jean Ninal move down to fifth, but just a point behind fourth, due to a decent 72 point week. With contributions from captain Haaland (12) Fernandes (10) Martial (8) Shaw (8) Mitoma (7) Pope (6) Mahrez (6) Salah (5) and Estupinan (4).
My recent former work colleague Abdul Rahman remains in sixth, following his weekly score of 51 points. Due to captain Wilson (4) Trippier (9) Burn (8) Kane (7) Haaland (6) Eze (5) and Salah (5). Also remaining in seventh is long-time league leader Natalie Stigwood with a 69 point weekly score. Her contributions came from captain Haaland (12) Sancho (10) Shaw (10) Alvarez (9) Trippier (9) Pope (6) and Schar (6).
This week’s Highest Scorer was Yours Truly. Thanks to my bench boost 89 point week, which also made me this week’s joint Highest Mover as I moved up two places from 10th to 8th. Doing the business were captain Haaland (12) Fernandes (11) Trippier (9) Enciso (8) Mitoma (7) and Estupinan (4) then from off the bench, Casemiro (16) and Wan-Bissaka (8). On the same points in joint eighth, but ninth for the purpose of this is my old football clubmate Darren Ahmet following his bench boost 68 point weekly score. Due to captain Haaland (12) Wan-Bissaka (8) Mitoma (7) Rashford (7) Salah (5) Steele (5) and Estupinan (4).
Another former work colleague Mr James moved down, but makes up the top ten with a somewhat disappointing 49 point week. His only real contributions came from triple captain Mahrez (15) Trippier (9) Salah (5) Steele (5) and Estupinan (4). This week’s other joint Highest Mover was my coaching partner, Francis Norville. His weekly score of 65 points moved him up two places from 18th to 16th, thanks to captain Haaland (12) Gross (11) Shaw (10) Trippier (9) Mitoma (7) Schar (6) and Raya (4).
Lastly, congratulations to Francis Norville and Derick Fredericks who will contest the ITYFL Cup next week, in sadly, the final game week of the season. Make it count y’all.
