Thankfully, we are back for the new Premier League season.
After the unprecedented last season which was disrupted by a winter World Cup. I’m sure one and all will be happy to be back to normality his season.
With the transfer window in full swing until the end of the month, and the emergence of the mega rich Saudi League. We are still not sure how teams will look for the season.
Nevertheless, after the devastation of leading the league for a record number of days. Only to fall at the final hurdle.
Arsenal have spent over £200m and have amassed what is looking like a formidable squad who I feel can finally break their 20-year duck.
Naturally, treble winners Man City will be most people’s favourites.
After flexing their financial muscle in the transfer market, they will again be the team to beat going for a sixth title in seven seasons.
It could again be a two-horse race. But I am expecting a surprise behind them as Chelsea, with a new manager, new fresh players and no European distraction could sneak into third.
I am once again expecting Man Utd to finish in the top four and push for third. However, they will also be pushed by two teams who I feel will be jockeying behind them.
It could go either way, but I feel Newcastle with Champions League football, and Liverpool with Europa League football, will be the distraction to stop them from making top four.
Behind them, I see a mini league for the next three positions.
Tottenham with their experience could just edge ahead of Aston Villa, who will be ones to watch this season. With Brighton there or there about in ninth.
For the middle of the road teams. Could be another trio in a mini league, which could go either way.
But I am looking at Brentford, with their great home form finishing in tenth. With West Ham and then Crystal Palace just behind.
I expect Everton to improve this season and to finish in and around the thirteenth position.
With newly promoted Burnley comfortably behind them but being pushed by Fulham who I have predicted to finish in fifteenth.
I feel the relegation fight will be between the bottom five teams. I believe Wolves will be the safest, with Bournemouth maybe just about surviving relegation.
For some reason I don’t feel Notts Forest will be so lucky this season. With Sheff Utd relegated behind and Luton finishing bottom, for a quick return to the Championship.
But as we all know. This is football and I can be totally wrong…… Enjoy!
