WEEK 23

This week in the Premier League, Arsenal beat Liverpool 3-1 at home to close the gap at the top. Wolves did the double over Chelsea with a 4-1 away win. Man City eased past Brentford 3-1 away. Man Utd brushed West Ham aside 3-0 at home.

Aston Villa destroyed Sheff Utd 5-0 away. Brighton destroyed Crystal Palace at home 4-1. Newcastle came from two goals down to draw 4-4 at home to Luton in a thriller. Everton got a last-minute equaliser to draw 2-2 at home with Tottenham.

Burnley came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at home with Fulham, and Notts Forest drew 1-1 at Bournemouth.

In the ITYFL, we have a new league leader. Flying the flag for Jamaica and the USA, Sanjay Beecher storms into the No.1 spot thanks to a superb 92 point weekly score, the joint fifth highest this season, making him this week’s Highest Scorer. Doing the business was captain Watkins (36) Foden (20) Richarlison (15) Palmer (8), and Haaland (5).

Long-time league leader Owen Barnes is down to second, following his 55 point week. Due to captain De Bruyne (10) Watkins (18) Saka (9) and Palmer (8).

My oldest son, under his alias Tommy Devito, moves up to third thanks to his very decent weekly score of 73 points. With contributions from captain Watkins (36) Saka (9) Trippier (9) De Bruyne (5), and Gordon (4).

This sees my coaching partner Francis Norville move down to fourth, just two points behind following his 54 point week, due to captain De Bruyne (10) Watkins (18) Saka (9) and Palmer (8).

Former champ, champ Danny Milton stays in fifth but closes the distance on fourth, thanks to his very decent 80 point weekly score. His contributions came from the likes of captain Foden (20) Watkins (18) Saka (9) Trippier (9) Palmer (8), and Haaland (5).

Moving up to sixth is the defending double champ Jeff Franklin, with a decent weekly score of 76 points. Due to Foden (20) Watkins (18) Martinelli (10) Onana (8) Gordon (4), and Udogie (4). Just a point behind is my middle son Jahsiah Tobierrie. He moves down to seventh, despite his decent 71 point week with contributions from Foden (20) Watkins (18) Saka (9) Palmer (8) and Haaland (5).

Former champ, ahem Charles Denton, moves up to eighth, following his 59 point weekly score, due to captain De Bruyne (10) Watkins (18) Saka (9) Palmer (8) and Maddison (5). My oldest nephew Tyrell Miles-Brown remains in ninth with a 49 point week. His main contributions came from captain De Bruyne (10) Watkins (18) Saka (9), and Haaland (5).

My blood brother Wayne Watson drops down, but holds onto a top-ten spot despite his disappointing 38 point weekly score. Mainly due to captain Haaland (10) Saka (9) Palmer (8) and Douglas Luiz (5).

This week’s Highest Mover is Philippines native Jean Ninal, who moved up seven places from 19th to 12th, thanks to her excellent weekly score of 86 points. Doing the business was captain Gordon (8) Foden (20) Watkins (18) Saka (9) Trippier (9) Bailey (7) Dalot (6), and De Bruyne (5).

Also, well done to Derrick Fredericks, who for the second time this season had an 88 point week. The ninth highest this season.
