This week in the Premier League, Liverpool embarrassed Spurs with a crushing 6-3 away win. Arsenal destroyed Crystal Palace 5-1 away. Man City continued their disastrous form with a 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa. Notts Forest continued their good form with a 2-0 win at Brentford.
Bournemouth brushed Man Utd aside 3-0 at Old Trafford for the second season in a row. Newcastle destroyed Ipswich 4-0 away. Wolves brushed Leicester aside 3-0 away. Brighton drew 1-1 at West Ham.
Everton got a decent point with a 0-0 draw at home to Chelsea, as did Southampton, who drew 0-0 at Fulham.
In the ITYFL, Owen Barnes is the Christmas No1 as he stormed to the top of the table thanks to a superb 103 point weekly score, the fourth-highest this season. His main contributions were from captain Salah (42) Isak (17) Cunha (9) Sanchez (9) Kluivert (8) Semenyo (8) and Gabriel (4).
This sees my youngest son and former champ Latrell Oscar, 25 points adrift in second, following his decent 76 point week. Due to captain Salah (42) Cunha (9) Semedo (9), and Gabriel (4).
Nordin Gharib stays in third place, due to a decent weekly score of 77 points, with captain Salah (42) Isak (17) Gabriel (4) and Raya (3).
Just six points behind third is this week’s Highest Scorer, the defending three-times champ Danny Milton. He scored an excellent 105 point weekly score, the second-highest this season. Doing the business were captain Salah (42) Isak (17) Cunha (9) Solanke (9) Hall (7) Kulusevski (7) Robinson (6), and Raya (3). But it could have been even better with 14 point Rogers not on the bench.
Remaining in fifth is Sanjay Beecher, flying the flag for JA & USA, with a very decent 88 point week. Thanks to captain Salah (42) Cunha (9) Kluivert (8) Hall (7) Bowen (6) Robinson (6), and Fabianski (3). He also left 14 points on the bench in Kulusevski & Mykolenko. My blood brother Wayne Watson stays in sixth, due to his 70 point weekly score, following captain Salah (42) Rogers (14) Alexander-Arnold (4) and Gabriel (4).
In seventh, my former work colleague and Arsenal man Mr James, with a decent weekly score of 84 points, with main contributions from captain Salah (42) Isak (17) Sels (7) Bowen (6) and Gabriel (4). My recent(ish) former work colleague Abdul Rahman stays in eighth and continues his good form with a decent 86 point week. Thanks to captain Palmer (6) Salah (21) Isak (17) Aina (15) Cunha (9) Gusto (6) Alexander-Arnold (4), and Fabianksi (3).
Two-time champ Jeff Franklin moves back into the top ten, in ninth place, with a 69 point weekly score, with captain Salah (42) Hall (7) and Robinson (6). However, he unfortunately left Rogers (14) and Harwood-Bellis (8) on the bench. This sees Simon Sebhat move down to tenth, following his weekly score of 50 points, with contributions from Isak (17) Luis Diaz (13) Robinson (6) and Gabriel (4).
This week’s joint Highest Movers were first, ahem Charles Denton, who moved up three places from 22nd to 19th, due to a decent 76 point week, thanks to captain Isak (34) Rogers (14) Hall (7) Sels (7) and Robinson (6). Also, Tommy Lee moved up three places from 23rd to 20th, following a 60 point weekly score, with Aina (15) Luis Diaz (13) Pickford (7) Bowen (6) and Burn (6).
It’s a quick turnaround to week 18 with the Boxing Day games. We are now fully in the busy Christmas period. Make it count y’all.
