SEASON ELEVEN
Final Day
On the final day of the Premier League, Chelsea beat Notts Forest away 1-0 to finish fourth and secure Champions League football and send Forest into the Conference league in seventh. Man Utd beat Aston Villa 2-0 at home in a controversial game that saw Villa miss out on Champions League football and finish in sixth and a Europa League spot.
Arsenal beat relegated Southampton 2-1 away to make it a hat-trick of second-place finishes. Man City beat Fulham 2-0 away to finish third. Newcastle lost at home to Everton but secured Champions League football to finish fifth.
Brighton just missed out on Europe despite destroying Europa League winners Tottenham 4-1 away. Bournemouth beat relegated Leicester 2-0 at home. West Ham beat relegated Ipswich 3-1 away. Wolves drew 1-1 at home to Brentford. Liverpool drew 1-1 at home to FA Cup winners Crystal Palace and finally celebrated the trophy in front of their fans.
In the ITYFL, congratulations once again to Danny Milton, who has won back-to-back titles and four in the last five years. He finished with a very decent 65 point weekly score, thanks to captain Bowen (26) Salah (10) Mbeumo (8) Kerkez (6) and Wan-Bissaka (5).
Finishing in second, some 68 points behind, but the best of the rest is Nordin Gharib. He ended with a disappointing 46 point week, with his main contribution coming from captain Raya (4) Bowen (13) Gvardiol (8) Kerkez (6) and Mitoma (4).
Just four points bending in third is flying the flag for JA & USA, Sanjay Beecher. He had a decent final day weekly score of 62 points due to captain Salah (20) Bowen (13) Gvardiol (8) and Mbeumo (8).
Two times champ Jeff Franklin finishes in a respectable fourth place, with a 52 point weekly score, and contributions from captain Salah (20) Gvardiol (8) Mbeumo (8) and Trossard (4).
Just one point behind in fifth is my recent(ish) former work colleague Abdul Rahman, following a decent bench boost weekly score of 60 points. With Salah (10) Gvardiol (8) Mbeumo (8) Kerkez (6), and from off the bench Pickford (11). Former champ and my youngest son Latrell Oscar finishes sixth, following a very decent 70 point bench boost week. His contributions came from captain Salah (20) Bowen (13) Gvardiol (8), and Mbeumo (8), with a combined 8 points from four players off the bench.
Owen Barnes ends the season in seventh, following a decent 64 point weekly score. With captain Salah (20) Semenyo (16) Mbeumo (8), and Sanchez (6). Just two points behind with an eighth-place finish is my blood brother, Wayne Watson, with a wildcard weekly score of 64 points. Due to captain Salah (20) Semenyo (16) Gvardiol (8), and B.Fernandez (7).
My former work colleague Mr James finishes in ninth, despite his disappointing 44 point week, following Salah (10) Cucurella (8) and Mbeumo (8). Just sneaking into the top ten on the final day at the expense of her brother for a very good debut season is my daughter, The OG Nae, thanks to a decent bench boost 58 point weekly score and contributions from Pickford (11) Mbeumo (8) and from off the bench Semenyo (16).
This week’s Highest Scorer was RMC Eremce, who scored a superb bench boost weekly score of 78 points, which also made him the joint Highest Mover, as he moved up two places from 22nd to 20th. Doing the business were Salah (10) Gvardiol (8) Mbeumo (8) Kerkez (6) Wan-Bissaka (5), and from off the bench Bowen (13) and Pickford (11).
This week’s other joint Highest Mover was my oldest son, under his alias Tommy Devito. He moved up two places from 16th to 14th, following his 55 point week due to captain Salah (20) Gvardiol (8) Mbeumo (8) and Kerkez (6).
Lastly, congratulations again to Danny Milton, who completed an unprecedented league and cup double as he defeated Jeff Franklin in the cup final. Congrats again to Danny Milton, now the four-time ITYFL CHAMPION!
