WEEK 2

This week in the Premier League, Liverpool squandered a two-goal lead for the second week in a row but broke 10-man Newcastle’s hearts with a last-second goal to win 3-2 at Newcastle. Spurs continued their bizarre hold on Man City with a 2-0 away win.

Arsenal destroyed Leeds 5-0 at home. Chelsea destroyed West Ham 5-1 away.  Burnley beat fellow newly promoted team Sunderland 2-0 at home. Brentford surprised Aston Villa with a 1-0 home win.

Everton got off to a good start in their new stadium with a 2-0 win against Brighton. Bournemouth beat Wolves 1-0 at home. Fulham got a late goal to draw 1-1 at home to Man Utd, and Notts Forest drew 1-1 at Crystal Palace.

In the ITYFL, former champ, ahem Charles Denton, is the new league leader, thanks to his very decent 87 point weekly score, making him this week’s Highest Scorer. Doing the business were Joao Pedro (15) Pickford (15) Gyokeres (12) Gakpo (10) Esteve (6) Gabriel (6) Saliba (6) Estevao (5), and Porro (5).

Yours Truly moves down to second, some 15 points behind, following my 67 point week. With contributions from captain Saka (12) Joao Pedro (15) Gyokeres (12) Esteve (6) Gabriel (6), and Spence (6).

Moving up to third, thanks to a decent weekly score of 76 points, is Owen Barnes, due to captain Joao Pedro (30) Gyokeres (12) Gabriel (6) Semenyo (6) Raya (6), and Salah (5).

Simon Sebhat moves up into a Champions League place with a 65 point weekly score, following captain Saka (12) Joao Pedro (15) Gyokeres (12) Ekitike (9) Ndiaye (8) Rice (6) Porro (5), and Salah (5).

Just a point behind in fifth is my oldest son, under his alias Tommy Devito, due to a 59 point week, with captain Salah (10) Joao Pedro (15) Iwobi (7) Gabriel (6) Rice (6), and Semenyo (6). Coach Simeon Edwards is up to sixth, following his weekly score of 58 points and contributions from captain Salah (10) Joao Pedro (15) Ekitike (9) Esteve (6) Van de Ven (6), and Kelleher (5).

Kool FM’s Pressure X moves up to seventh place with a 56 point weekly score, due to Pickford (15) Ekitike (9) Gabriel (6) Semenyo (6) Cucurella (5), and Salah (5). Flying the flat for JA & USA, Sanjay Beecher stays in eighth, just a point behind, following his 50 point week, with Hudson-Odoi (10) Ndiaye (8) Dubravka (6) Gabriel (6), and Salah (5).

Just a point behind in ninth is Philippines native Jean Ninal, following a weekly score of 55 points and contributions from captain Gyokeres (24) Gabriel (6) Saka (6), and Van de Ven (6). This week’s Highest Mover was Timothy Stigwood, who moved up a massive 13 places, the joint fourth-highest move in history, from joint 23rd to 10th, due to a very decent 73 point weekly score. Thanks to vice captain Gyokeres (24) Joao Pedro (15) Grealish (11) Saka (6), and Spence (6).
