I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON TWELVE
WEEK 5
This week in the Premier League, Liverpool maintained their 100% start to the season with a 2-1 home win over Everton in the Merseyside derby. Man Utd defeated Chelsea 2-1 in a game which saw two red cards in the first half. Leeds impressed with a 3-1 away win at Wolves.
Crystal Palace continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-1 win at West Ham. Fulham eased past Brentford 3-1 at home. Arsenal needed a last-minute goal to draw 1-1 at home to Man City. Spurs came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at home to Brighton.
10-man Sunderland drew 1-1 at home to Aston Villa. Burnley drew 1-1 at home to Notts Forest, and Newcastle drew 0-0 at Bournemouth.
In the ITYFL, former champ (ahem) Charles Denton remains top of the league, though his lead is cut to thirty points, following a steady 46 point weekly score. Due to captain Haaland (18) Kudus (7) Caicedo (4) Virgil (4), and Sels (3).
Coach Simz, Simeon Edwards moves up into second place, following a very decent weekly score of 53 points, thanks to captain Salah (10) Ekitike (8) Guehi (7) Kudus (7) Mateta (6) Semenyo (5) and Esteve (4).
This sees Owen Barnes move down to third, due to his modest 35 point week. With captain Salah (10) Kudus (7) Semenyo (5), and Esteve (4).
Also moving down to fourth, just two points behind third, is Yours Truly, with an extremely disappointing 29 point weekly score. My only true contributions came from Haaland (9) Eze (4), and Sels (3).
Flying the flag for JA & USA. Sanjay Beecher remains in fifth, following a very decent weekly score of 53 points and contributions from captain Haaland (18) Ekitike (8) Guehi (7) Salah (5) Semenyo (5) and Richards (4). My old football club mate Darren Michael continues his good recent form as he moves up to sixth, thanks to his decent 50 point week, due to captain Salah (10) Haaland (9) Richarlison (9) Semenyo (5) J.Anderson (4) Sels (3), and Tarkowski (3).
Just two points behind is this week’s joint Highest Mover, Tommy Lee. He moved up three places from 10th to 7th, thanks to a very decent weekly score of 58 points. With captain Kudus (14) Bowen (9) Ekitike (8) Guehi (7) Pope (6) Eze (4), and Mbeumo (3). This sees Timothy Stigwood move down to eighth following a 40 point week, due to captain Salah (10) Fernandes (10) Semenyo (5), and Virgil (4).
My oldskool mate, Derrick Fredericks, moves up to ninth place with a decent 51 point weekly score. His contributions came from captain Salah (10) Haaland (9) Senesi (9) Guehi (7) Semenyo (5), and Caicedo (4). My youngest son and former champ Latrell Oscar holds onto a top ten spot following his 48 point weekly score due to captain Wood (4) Haaland (9) Burn (9) Kudus (7) E.Anderson (4) Virgil (4), and Sels (3).
This week’s Highest Scorer was the bottom team, RMC Eremce, who notched an excellent 62 point week. Doing the business were captain Fernandes (20) Haaland (9) Chalobah (8) Mitchell (8) Semenyo (5), and Eze (4). This week’s other joint Highest Mover was my oldest nephew, Tyrell Miles-Brown, who moved up three places from 19th to 16th, following a weekly score of 45 points and contributions from captain Joao Pedro (4) Burn (9) Reijnders (9) Kudus (7) Salah (5) Rice (3) and Sels (3).
