SEASON TWELVE

WEEK 8

This week in the Premier League, Man Utd shocked Liverpool at Anfield with a late goal to secure a 2-1 win. Chelsea brushed Forest aside 3-0 away, which marked the end of Ange’s tenure. Villa came from behind to beat Spurs 2-1 away. Arsenal eased past Fulham 1-0 away.

Brentford impressed as they beat West Ham 2-0 away. Sunderland continued their stong start to the seaosn as they beat Wolves 2-0 at home. Man City comfortably beat Everton at home 2-0.

Burnley beat Leeds 2-0 at home. Brighton edged out Newcastle 2-1 at home, and in the game of the day, Bournemouth came back from 2-0 down, then 3-2 down to earn a stoppage-time penalty to draw at Palace 3-3.

In the ITYFL, former champ (ahem) Charles Denton sits comfortably at the top and consolidated his position with a decent 61 point weekly score, with captain Haaland (26) Gabriel (12) Roefs (7), and Semenyo (4).

Coach Simz, Simeon Edwards remains in second, closing the distance slightly after posting a very decent weekly score of 72 points. His contributions came from captain Haaland (26) Mateta (17) Saka (7) Kelleher (6), and Guehi (4).

Yours Truly stays in third place. I had a decent 69 point week, mainly due to captain Haaland (24) Gabriel (12) Munoz (10), and Esteve (8).

Breathing down my neck, just five points behind, is my oldest son, under his alias Tommy Devito, who also had a weekly score of 69 points, with captain Haaland (24) Gabriel (12) Thiago (8) Saka (7) Guehi (4), and Semenyo (4).

This week’s Highest Mover was my old football club mate Darren Michael, who stormed up six places from 11th to 5th, thanks to his excellent 82 point week, which also made him this week’s Highest Scorer. Doing the business were captain Haaland (26) Gabriel (12) Munoz (10) Cucurella (8) Woltemade (8)  Saka (7), and Semenyo (4).

Moving up to sixth, just two points behind, is Owen Barnes due to his decent weekly score of 67 points, with captain Haaland (24) Gabriel (12) Raya (6) Xhaka (5) Guehi (4), and Semenyo (4). This sees my Oldskool mate Derick Fredericks down to seventh, following a 57 point weekly score, following captain Haaland (24) Gabriel (12) Guehi (4), and Semenyo (4).

Sanjay Beecher, flying the flag for JA & USA, also moves down to eighth, due to a 55 point week, with contributions mainly from captain Haaland (24) Dubravka (9) Guehi (4), and Semenyo (4). My long-time bredrin Francis Norville has moved up to joint ninth place following a decent weekly score of 66 points, with captain Haaland (26) Gabriel (12) Saka (7) Chalobah (6) Guehi (4), and Semenyo (4).

Moving down but also in joint ninth is my youngest son and former champ Latrell Oscar, due to a 59 point week, and contributions from captain Haaland (26) Rogers (7) Chalobah (6), and Raya (6). Making up the top ten is Tommy Lee, following his 54 point weekly score with captain Kudus (4) Gabriel (12) Mbeumo (9) Thaigo (8) Timber (6), and Guehi (4).
