SEASON TWELVE

WEEK 19

This week in the Premier League, Arsenal destroyed Aston Villa 4-1 at home. Everton got a credible 2-0 win at Notts Forest. Newcastle beat Burnley 3-1 away.

Bournemouth drew 2-2 at Chelsea, which turned out to be the last game for Enzo Maresca.  West Ham drew 2-2 at home to Brighton. Wolves got only their third point of the season as they drew 1-1 at Man Utd.

On New Year’s Day. Sunderland got a 0-0 draw at home to Man Utd. Leeds drew 0-0 at Liverpool. Fulham drew 1-1 at Crystal Palace, and Brentford drew 0-0 at home to Tottenham.

In the ITYFL, Coach Simz, Simeon Edwards, goes into 2026 as the main man leading the league. He had a modest 38 point weekly score, with captain Haaland (4) Kelleher (6) Saka (6) Van de Ven (6) Semenyo (5), and Foden (3).

My old football club mate Darren Michael remains in second, cutting the lead at the top to nine points, following his free hit 40 point week and contributions from captain Ekitike (4) Alisson (6) Saka (6) Cherki (5) Semenyo (5) Hall (4), and Foden (3).

Former champ (ahem) Charles Denton stays in third, however, losing some distance with a disappointing 29 point week. Mainly due to captain Haaland (4) Saka (6) Gravernberch (5), and Fofana (3).

My long-time bredrin, Francis Norville, stays in fourth and closes the distance on third following his modest free hit 37 point weekly score, with captain Ekitike (4) Gabriel (15) Saka (6), and Foden (3).

Owen Barnes moved up to fifth due to his very decent 48 point week. His contribution came from captain Haaland (4) Mateta (9) Timber (9) Alderete (8) Semenyo (5) Xhaka (5), and Foden (3). This sees my oldest son, under his alias Tommy Devito, move down to sixth, following his modest weekly score of 37. points, with captain Haaland (4) Mateta (9) Gudmundsson (8) Semenyo (5), and Foden (3).

Moving up to seventh is Sanjay Beecher, flying the flag of JA & USA. He scored a very decent bench boost weekly score of 47 points, due to captain Haaland (4) Virgil (6) Gordon (5) Semenyo (5) Foden (3), and from off the bench Roefs (7) and Van de Ven (6). This sees two-time champ Jeff Franklin move down to eighth, just two points behind, following his modest free hit 30 point week, and main contributions from captain Haaland (4) Palmer (7) Gordon (5) Anderson (3), and Wirtz (3).

Also moving down, my youngest son and former champ Latrell Oscar is down to ninth, five points behind, with his modest 30 point week. Following captain Haaland (4) Virgil (6) Anderson (4) Thiaw (4), and Foden (3). My OldSkool mate Derick Fredericks makes up the top ten with a free hit weekly score of 35 points, due to captain Ekitike (4) Donnarumma (7) Saka (6) Semenyo (5), and Minteh (4).

This week’s Highest Scorer was Simon Sebhat, who scored a superb 62 point weekly score. Doing the business was mainly captain Gabriel (30) Pedro Porro (10) Saka (6) Semenyo (5), and Kudus (3). This week’s Highest Mover was my oldest nephew, Tyrell Miles-Brown. He moved up three places from 16th to 13th, thanks to his 41 point week and contributions from captain Haaland (4) Timber (9) Kelleher (6) Saka (6) Semenyo (5), and Foden (5).

It’s another quick turnaround to the weekend games for week 20. We are now officially halfway through the season. Make it count y’all.
