I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON TWELVE
WEEK 33
This week in the Premier League. Man City beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Etihad to go three points behind with a game in hand. Liverpool got a last-minute goal to beat Everton 2-1 in the first Merseyside derby at Hill Dickinson stadium. Man Utd beat Chelsea away 1-0 to solidify their Champions League position while denting the West Londoners.
Aston Villa scored a last-minute goal to beat Sunderland 4-3 at home and boost their Champions League qualification. Bournemouth stretched their unbeaten run and boosted their European hopes with a 2-1 win at Newcastle. Notts Forest moved further away from relegation with a 4-1 win over Burnley, who are now one defeat away from the drop.
Leeds brushed past relegated Wolves 3-0 to boost their survival hopes. Spurs conceded a late equaliser to draw 2-2 at home with Brighton, keeping them in the bottom three. West Ham drew 0-0 at Palace to go two points above the relegation zone, and Brentford drew at home with Fulham 0-0.
In the ITYFL, Coach Simz, Simeon Edwards, is back on top and has taken a significant step towards the title thanks to a superb free-hit weekly score of 114 points, making him this week’s Highest Scorer. Doing the business were captain Haaland (26) Kadioglu (16) Cherki (13) Van Hacke (12) Struijk (10) Tavernier (9) Calvert-Lewin (8) Darlow (8) Hill (5), and Semenyo (5).
Nineteen points adrift in second is my old football club mate, Darren Michael, despite an excellent 90 point week. Due to triple captain Haaland (39) O’Reilly (13) Calvert-Lewin (8) Dewsbury-Hall (6) B.Fernandes (6) Hill (5) Semenyo (5), and Wilson (3).
My long-time bredrin Francis Norville is still in touching distance but is starting to lose ground despite his very decent weekly score of 87 points. Following captain Semenyo (10) Gibbs-White (20) Haaland (13) O’Reilly (13) Kroupi (10) Dewsbury-Hall (6) B.Fernandes (6), and Senesi (6).
Making up the Champions League places in fourth is former champ (ahem) Charles Denton, due to a very decent weekly score of 88 points, with captain Haaland (26) Van Hecke (12) Kroupi (10) Guehi (8) Welbeck (8) Kelleher (6) Senesi (6) Semenyo (5), and Szoboszlai (5).
My middle son, Jahsiah Tobierrie, is leading the family tree and moved up to fifth, following his very decent 87 point week and contributions from captain Haaland (26) Justin (19) Rogers (9) B.Fernandes (6) Richards (6) Hill (5) Semenyo (5), and Dubravka (4). This sees Tommy Lee move down to sixth, with a modest 57 point weekly score due to captain Bowen (4) Gibbs-White (20) Guehi (8) Collins (6) Senesi (6), and Semenyo (5).
Moving up to seventh, just four points behind is my youngest son and former champ Latrell Oscar, with a decent weekly score of 74 points, following captain Haaland (26) Gibbs-White (20) B.Fernandes (6) Senesi (6) Ndiaye (4) Digne (3) Saliba (3), and Wilson (3). Owen Barnes has moved up to eighth despite his modest 59 point week. His main contributions were from captain Haaland (26) Rogers (9) Guehi (8) B.Fernandes (6), and Garner (4).
This week’s joint Highest Mover was two-time champ, Jeff Franklin. He moved up four places from 13th to 9th, just four points behind eighth with an excellent free-hit weekly score of 91 points. Thanks to captain Tavernier (18) Cherki (13) Haaland (13) Struijk (10) Calvert-Lewin (8) Darlow (8) Senesi (6) Semenyo (5) Scott (5), and Cucurella (3). But it would have been even better had he not left Van Hecke (12) on the bench.
Nordin Gharib is this week’s other joint Highest Mover, as he moved up four places from 14th to 10th, just a point behind ninth, following his fantastic 113 point wildcard weekly score. Doing the business were captain Haaland (26) Okafor (16) O’Reilly (13) Rayan (11) Kroupi (10) Lammens (10) Struijk (10) Senesi (6) Semenyo (5), and Enzo (4).
Full steam ahead to week 34, which starts on Friday. Make it count y’all.
