I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON TWELVE
WEEK 35
This week in the Premier League, Arsenal eased past Fulham 3-0 at home to go five points clear at the top, because Man City slipped up at Everton after clawing back a two-goal deficit to draw 3-3. Man United Consolidated third with a late goal to win 3-2 at home to rivals Liverpool.
Spurs finally got back-to-back wins as they surprisingly beat Aston Villa 2-1 away, to move out of the bottom three. West Ham slipped into the relegation zone as they slumped to a 3-0 defeat at Brentford. Notts Forest moved further away from relegation as their second string steamrolled Chelsea 3-1 away.
Leeds confirmed their survival with a 3-1 home win over relegated Burnley. Bournemouth maintained their unbeaten run with a comfortable 3-0 home win over Crystal Palace. Newcastle got a much-needed win as they beat inform Brighton 3-1 at home, and relegated Wolves drew 1-1 at home to Sunderland.
In the ITYFL, my old football club mate Darren Michael took a significant step towards the title as he stretched his lead at the top to 23, with three game weeks to go. He notched an excellent 73 points weekly score, thanks to captain Haaland (14) Mukiele (11) Hill (10) Joao Pedro (8) Calvert-Lewin (6) Gabriel (6) Raya (6), and B.Fernandes (5).
Coach Simz, Simeon Edwards lost some ground in second place and has hit some mediocre form at the worst possible time with a 55 point week and contributions from captain B.Fernandes (10) Szoboszlai (13) Kelleher (8) Haaland (7) Gabriel (6), and Gibbs-White (4).
In third, my long-time bredrin Francis Norville may now have to concede his title challenge, despite his decent weekly score of 60 points. Due to captain B.Fernandes (10) Senesi (14) Haaland (7) Gabriel (6) Thaigo (6) Raya (6), and Gibbs-White (4), but could have done without leaving Mukiele (11) and Cunha (7) on the bench.
Making up the Champions League places in fourth is (ahem) Charles Denton with a decent weekly score of 65 points, following captain Haaland (14) Senesi (14) Kelleher (8) Truffert (7) Gabriel (6) Rice (5), and Guehi (4). But will be upset at leaving Szoboszlai (13) on the bench.
Moving up to fifth is my youngest son and former champ, Latrell Oscar, due to an excellent 75 point week. Thanks to captain Thiago (12) Senesi (14) Stach (10) Haaland (7) Gabriel (6) Raya (6) Saliba (6) B.Fernandes (5) Alderete (4), and Gibbs-White (4). Down to sixth, but just two points behind his brother, is my middle son, Jahsiah Tobierrie, following his 52 point weekly score. His main contributions came from captain Bowen (4) Hill (10) Haaland (7) Gabriel (6) Thiago (6) B.Fernandes (5) Rice (5), and Gibbs-White (4).
Moving up to seventh was my Old Skool mate Derick Fredericks, with a superb weekly score of 76 points, making him this week’s Highest Scorer. Doing the business were captain Haaland (14) Senesi (14) Stach (10) Truffert (7) Calvert-Lewin (6) Raya (6) Thiago (6) B.Fernandes (5), and Rice (5). This sees Tommy Lee move down to eighth, but just three behind, following a disappointing 37 point week. With contributions from captain Bowen (4) Gabriel (6) Thiago (6) Cherki (5) Rice (5), and Gibbs-White (4).
Also moving down, two-time champ Jeff Franklin is in ninth, following a wildcard weekly score of 57 points, due to captain B.Fernandes (10) Stach (10) Haaland (7) Gabriel (6) Raya (6) Thiago (6), and Cherki (5). This week’s Highest Mover was my oldest mate, Hayes and Yeading Sporing Director Delroy Preddie. He moved up three places from thirteenth into the top ten, thanks to an excellent 74 point weekly score, with triple-captain Haaland (21) Doku (15) Senesi (14) Joao Pedro (8) Rice (5), and Eze (3).
Just three more game weeks to go, full steam ahead to week 36, make it count y’all.
