I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON TWELVE
WEEK 37
This week in the Premier League, Arsenal narrowly beat Burnley 1-0 at home in another controversial game, and Man City drew 1-1 at Bournemouth, which saw the Gunners crowned Premier League champions.
Man Utd consolidated third place with a 3-2 home win over Notts Forest. Aston Villa confirmed a Champions League place with a 4-2 home trouncing over Liverpool, who need a point in fifth to confirm their Champions League place. Chelsea beat Spurs 2-1 at home, forcing the North Londoners to sweat it out on the last day of the season.
West Ham lost 3-1 at Newcastle and sits in the third relegation place with one game to play. Sunderland boosted their European hopes with a 3-1 win at Everton. Brighton dented their European hopes with a 1-0 defeat at Leeds. Brentford still have hopes of Europe with a 2-2 home draw with Crystal Palace, and relegated Wolves drew 1-1 at home to Fulham.
In the ITYFL, with just one game week to go, my old football club mate Darren Micheal, after his team Arsenal secured the title, is in pole position to make it a memorable season as he sits over forty points ahead at the top and is now the champion elect. He secured a very decent 64 point weekly score, thanks to captain Haaland (18) Saka (10) B.Fernandes (9) Calvert-Lewin (7) Gabriel (6), and Raya (6).
Coach Simz Simeon Edwards, remains in second, clinging to a faint hope and hoping for a miracle on the final day of the season. He had a decent weekly score of 63 points, with captain Cherki (2) Watkins (15) Saka (10) B.Fernandes (9) Haaland (9) Sarr (7), and Gabriel (6).
My longtime bredrin and happy Arsenal fan, Francis Norville, looks to have consolidated a very commendable third place despite a slightly disappointing 48 point week. Due to contributions from captain Gyokeres (2) B.Fernandes (9) Haaland (9) Sarr (7) Gabriel (6), and Raya (6).
Staying in fourth and closing in on third is former champ (ahem) Charles Denton, following his decent weekly score of 60 points. With captain Haaland (18) Saka (10) Szoboszlai (9) Gabriel (6) Rice (5), and Truffert (4).
My youngest son and happy Arsenal fan Latrell Oscar stays in fifth and is one week away from family bragging rights. due to his free hit 58 point weekly score and contributions from captain B.Fernandes (18) Cunha (9) Saliba (8) Gabriel (6) Raya (6), and Tarkowski (3). My OldSkool mate Derick Fredericks moves up to sixth, thanks to a very decent 66 point week, with captain Haaland (18) B.Fernandes (9) Calvert-Lewin (7) Gabriel (6) Raya (6) Rice (5) Senesi (4) Truffert (4), and Stach (3).
This sees my middle son, another happy Arsenal fan, Jahsiah Tobierrie, move down to seventh, following his disappointing 48 point weekly score, mainly due to captain Doku (4) Rogers (12) B.Fernandes (9) Haaland (9), and Gabriel (6). Two-time Jeff Franklin stays in eighth with a 51 point week. His contributions came from captain Gabriel (12) B.Fernandes (9) Haaland (9) Raya (6) Minteh (3), and Tarkowski (3).
Tommy Lee stays in joint ninth, despite his modest weekly score of 47 points, due to triple captain Bowen (6) Haaland (9) Gibbs-White (7) Gabriel (6) Rice (5) Pope (4), and Mavropanos (3). Also in joint ninth heading for a commendable top ten finish is my daughter, The OG Nae, thanks to a decent 60 point week, following captain Saka (20) B.Fernandes (9) Haaland (9) Raya (6) Rice (5), and Van den Berg (4).
This week’s Highest Scorer was another very happy Arsenal fan, my former work colleague, Mr James, thanks to a superb bench boost 97 point weekly score. Which also made him this week’s Highest Mover, as he moved up two places from 20th to 18th. Doing the business were captain B.Fernandes (18) Watkins (15) Enzo (13) Rogers (12) Kroupi (8) Gabriel (6) Raya (6) Roden (6) Eze (3), and a combined six points off the bench.
Lastly, good luck to Darren Micheal and Derick Fredericks, who have made it to the ITYFL Cup Final.
Full steam ahead to the final day of the fantasy league season. Make it count y’all.
