Bio: This is a very fit, consistent and versatile right-sided defender.
Personally I preferred to play him in the wing back position (although he is decent at right back) as he has tremendous work rate, which allows him to get up and down the right flank all game.
He’s a typical Spanish defender who is good on the ball, can play football but equally strong in the tackle. For me, a great asset was his crossing. More often than not, when high up the pitch, he would deliver a good, dangerous ball in.
Due to this, he always had a decent amount of assists per season. He also takes a decent corner. His form allowed him to force his way into the Spanish squad and in the end played over 50 times for his country, including two World Cups while at my team.
