PLAYER NO126
Name: Francisco Trincao
Original Team: Sporting Lisbon (Portugal)
Best Position: Attacking Midfielder Right
Best Attribute: Vision / Dribbling / Flair
Bio: Admittedly, I only fully appreciated him when I had him as a player and saw him regularly, up close and personal.
Admittedly, I only had him for a few seasons in the later stages of his career. However, though he was a more mature, thoughtful and intelligent player, I couldn’t help thinking how good he would have been in his prime.
He has a wand of a left foot, is skilful, tricky and would beat players at will. However, a bigger plus was his vision and passing ability.
I felt he was more happy to create chances and get assists. This made him a more versatile player. Although he played on the right, cutting in on his left foot, he also became an excellent left winger, getting to the byline and delivering superb crosses.
He would also get his fair share of goals, though assists were his forte. To add to his already growing attributes, he is excellent on corners, with some wicked in-swingers. He also takes free kicks.
He is 23 and newly at Sporting when the game starts, so a possible loan deal is a more likely option. Failing that, you may have to monitor him, showing interest for a few seasons before approaching.
