I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON ELEVEN
WEEK 28
This week in a reduced Premier League, Arsenal eased past Chelsea 1-0 at home to keep their slim title hopes alive. Notts Forest continued their superb season with a 4-2 win at Ipswich to enhance their Champions League hopes.
Brentford came from a goal down to beat Bournemouth 2-1 away for a fifth straight win away from home. Fulham beat Spurs 2-0 at home. Man Utd brushed past Leicester 3-0 away. Wolves beat Southampton 2-1 away.
Brighton came from behind twice to draw 2-2 at Man City, and Everton got a very late goal to draw 1-1 at home to West Ham.
In the ITYFL, we have a turn-up for the books in the shape of a new league leader. Unexpectedly, Nordin Gharib has risen to the summit to put him eight points clear, thanks to his superb 74 point week, which made him this week’s Highest Scorer. Doing the business were captain Fernandes (34) Marmoush (12) Mbeumo (6) Raya (6) Gabriel (5), and Kerkez (4).
The defending three-times champ Danny Milton is back in second, no doubt looking to react following his modest 42 point weekly score with J.Timber (9) Robinson (7) Mbeumo (6) Raya (6) and Bowen (5).
Taking advantage of the modest weekly scores, Sanjay Beecher, flying the flag for JA & USA, has moved up to third, with a weekly score of 43 points, due to captain Mbeumo (12) Haaland (7) Robinson (7) and Gibbs-White (5).
Owen Barnes moved up into a Champions League place, despite a modest 34 point week. His contributions were from Marmoush (12) Mbeumo (6) and Gabriel (5).
This is because my recent(ish) former work colleague Adbul Rahman moved down to fifth, following a very disappointing weekly score of 22 points, with his only real contributions coming from Mbeumo (6) and Kerkez (4). My youngest son and former champ Latrell Oscar stays in sixth due to his 35 point weekly score, with Marmoush (12) Mbeumo (6) and Gabriel (5).
My blood brother Wayne Watson stays in seventh place following his 34 point week, due to Wissa (8) Haaland (7) and Gabriel (5). This week’s Highest Mover was my middle son Jahsiah Tobierrie, who moved up two places from 10th to 8th thanks to a decent, free hit, 55 point weekly score. His contributions came from captain Haaland (14) Fernandes (17) Mbeumo (6) Bowen (5), and Gabriel (5).
This sees Simon Sebhat move down to ninth following a disappointing weekly score of 29 points with contributions from Milenkovic (11) Mbeumo (6) Gabriel (5), and Flekken (3). My former work colleague and Arsenal man Mr James moved up into the top ten, following his decent 58 point weekly score, thanks to captain Fernandes (17) Marmoush (12) Milenkovic (11) and Gabriel (5).
Sadly, we have our last international break for the season, see you in two weeks for the midweek games.
