This week, on the final day of the Premier League, Man Utd beat Leicester 2-0 away to book their place in the Champions League at the expensive of Leicester. Arsenal beat Watford 3-2 at home, sending Watford down. Bournemouth beat Everton 3-1 away but still got relegated. Aston Villa got a 1-1 draw at West Ham to secure their Premier League status. Southampton beat Sheff Utd 3-1 at home. Brighton beat Burnley 2-1 away, also Spurs and Crystal Palace played out a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park.

In the ITYIFL, for the second year in a row, the title was decided on the final day of the season, by the team in second place, who dramatically won it at the final hour. Mr Ever-Present Jeff Franklin is the new champion and will have his name up in lights (well, a colour of his choice). He scored a superb 81 points, to win the league in the end by a 15 point margin. This was thanks to the likes of captain Sterling (16) De Bruyne (19) Fernandes (11) Ings (8) Jesus (8) Rico (7) and Martial (6).

Having topped the league for the past six weeks, perennial top ten man Danny Milton must be sick at losing the title on the final day. He had a weekly score of 54 points, but it just wasn’t enough. His contributions came from captain Sterling (16) Fernandes (11) Jesus (8) and Martial (6). This weeks joint Highest Mover, who moved up two places from 5th to a very decent third place finish is Washington DC’s Greg C with an excellent 95 point week, just four off the highest scorer. This was thanks to captain De Bruyne (38) Grealsih (10) Van Dijk (9) Ings (8) Jesus (8) Wan-Bissaka (7) Martial (6) and Azpilicueta (5).

Timothy Stigwood finished the season in a Champions League place, following a decent final day weekly score of 70 points. This was due to De Bruyne (19) Mount (14) Grealish (10) Van Dijk (9) and Sterling (8). Lee Barratt moves up to finish in fifth, with a very decent 77 point week. Thanks to De Bruyne (19) Aubameyang (16) Fernandes (11) Van Dijk (9) Ings (8) and Martial (6).

Last seasons runner up, my Arsenal mate Mr James moves down for a sixth place finish, following a weekly score of 60 points. This was due to triple captain Sterling (24) Fernandes (11) Kane (9) and Jesus (8). Natalie Stigwood finished in seventh, following a weekly score of 59 points. Her contributions came mainly from captain Fernandes (22) De Bruyne (19) and Mahrez (9).

My oldest mate Delroy Preddie had a respectable eighth place finish in his debut season. He scored a decent 69 point week, thanks mainly to captain De Bruyne (38) Grealish (10) Mane (6) and Ayew (5). Simon Sebhat finishes a respectable season in ninth, with a final day weekly score of 63 points. His contributions came mainly from captain De Bruyne (38) Ings (8) and Martial (6).

Halifa S S makes up the final top ten positions, with a weekly score of 60 points. This was mainly due to the like of captain Aubameyang (32) Ings (8) Wan-Bissaka (7) and Martial (6). This weeks Highest Scorer was Owen Barnes with a superb, free hit 99 point week. Doing the business were captain Sterling (16) De Bruyne (19) Fernandes (11) Grealish (10) Walker (10) Van Dijk (9) Kane (9) and Deeney (6).

This weeks other two joint Highest Movers were firstly, Kool FM’s Pressure X, who moved up two places from 15th to 13th, due to a very decent 82 point week. Thanks to captain Sterling (16) Aubameyang (16) Fernandes (11) Wood (9) Van Dijk (9) Ings (8) Martial (6) and Robertson (5). Also, last seasons parting champion ahm Charles Denton, who also moved up two places from 17th to 15th following a 75 point week. Thanks to captain Kane (18) De Bruyne (19) Mahrez (9) Van Dijk (9) Ings (8) and Maguire (9). I would also like to give a mention to July’s manager of the month Tommy Warner.

So, the season has finally finished, just two weeks short of a full year. It’s certainly been eventful. The good thing is the new season starts in just six weeks on September 12th. So all that’s left to say is CONGRATULATIONS to the 2019/20 ITYIFL champion JEFF FRANKLIN!!!!! see you all in six weeks time!
