SEASON NINE

WEEK 8

This week in the Premier League. In the Manchester derby City flexed their considerable muscles by beating United 6-3 at the Etihad. In the North London derby, Arsenal proved North London is red by beating Tottenham 2-1 at the Emirates. Chelsea was fortunate to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 away with a late winner. Newcastle took advantage of ten-man Fulham by beating them 4-1 away. West Ham cruised past Wolves 2-0 at home, which cost Bruno Large his job. Everton scored two goals in two minutes to beat Southampton away 2-1. Leicester got a much-needed win as they trounced Forest at home 4-0. Brighton drew at Liverpool 3-3 in a thriller. Ten-man Leeds held off Villa as they drew 0-0 at home. Also, Bournemouth drew at home with Brentford 0-0. 

In the ITYIFL, September’s manager of the month, Natalie Stigwood is looking comfortable at the top of the table, as she stretched her lead to a healthy 65 points. Thanks to a very decent 80 point week. Doing the business was mainly captain Haaland (46) Trippier (7) Kane (6) Bernardo (5) Diaz (4), and Martinelli (4).

Moving up into second, is my oldest nephew Tyrell Miles-Brown, due to a very decent 87 point weekly score. This was thanks to captain Haaland (46) Trossard (20) Jesus (8), and Martinelli (4). Moving up into third, just a point behind is a man who’s been a mainstay in the top half, fighting for honours in the last few years Jeff Franklin. He scored a very decent 90 point week, thanks mainly to captain Haaland (46) Maddison (18) Jesus (8), and Trippier (7). 

Down to fourth, losing ground, is my old football clubmate Darren Ahmet, following his weekly score of 69 points. This was due to captain Salah (10) Haaland (23) Jesus (8) Tripper (7) Raya (6) Bernardo (5) Diaz (4), and Martinelli (4). My long-time mate Bob Maroon stays in fifth, due to his decent 80 point week. Following points from captain Haaland (46) Coady (9) Jesus (8) Kane (6), and Dias (4). 

Nordin Gharib remains in sixth place, thanks to his decent weekly score of 85 points. With contributions from captain Haaland (46) De Bruyne (8) Jesus (8) Raya (6), and Martinelli (4). Storming up into seventh is this week’s Highest Scorer, my Spurs mate Keith Wilson, with an excellent weekly score of 101 points. (Something to cheer you up this weekend) Doing the business were captain Haaland (46) Trossard (20) Coady (9) Kane (6) Thiago Silva (6), and Bernardo (5). 

Remaining in eighth place, just a few points behind, is double champ Danny Milton, following his excellent weekly score of 98 points. This was thanks to the likes of captain Haaland (46) Maddison (18) Jesus (8) Trippier (7) Kane (6), and Martinelli (4). Moving down to ninth, breaking his four-week, seventh place streak, is my recent former work colleague Abdul Rahman, with an 81 point weekly score. This was due to captain Jesus (16) Haaland (23) Almiron (15) Trippier (7) Kane (6), and Martinelli (4).

This week’s joint Highest Movers is first, Owen Barnes, who moved up five places from 15th into the top ten, thanks to a very decent 87 point week. His contributions came from captain Haaland (46) Xhaka (9) De Bruyne (8) Jesus (8) Trippier (7), and Dias (4). Also, Kool FM’s Pressure X. He moved up five places from 24th to 19th, thanks to his very decent weekly score of 96 points. Dong the business was mainly captain Haaland (46) Trossard (20) De Bruyne (8) Jesus (8), and Trippier (7).
