I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON SIX
WEEK 20
First off, apologies as due to the quick turnaround I had no time to do a week 19 update where the highlights were Liverpool putting in arguably their performances of the season to beat Leicester 4-0 away. Wolves came from two goals down to beat a 10 man Man City 3-2 at home. Southampton shocked Chelsea with a 2-0 away win. Man Utd destroyed Newcastle 4-1 at home. Carlo Ancelotti got a first win in his first game courtesy of a late winner from Calvert-Lewin and Ayew scored a late wonder goal to give Palace a late 2-1 win over West Ham.
Also, apologies to Washington DC’s Greg C who was last weeks (two days ago) joint Highest Scorer with 81 points which made him soar to the top of the table. Jeff Franklin was last weeks other joint highest scorer.
This week in the Premier League, Chelsea left it late to score two goals and beat Arsenal at the Emirates 2-1. Liverpool beat Wolves 1-0 at home in a somewhat controversial game. Man City beat Sheff Utd 2-0 at home in a game that had its own share of controversy. Despite going down to 10 men, Watford beat Villa 3-0 at home. Everton beat Newcastle 2-1 away. Man Utd beat Burnley 2-0 away. Brighton beat Bournemouth by the same score. Norwich and Spurs drew 2-2 at Carrow Road, also Southampton drew at home with Palace 1-1.
In the ITYIFL, Washington DC’s Greg C maintained his position at the top of the table from last week by 14 points and will see in 2020 at the summit. Congrats but still a long way to go. This was due to a weekly score of 58 points thanks to captain Mane (22) Ings (9) Alexander-Arnold (8) Richarlison (6).
My oldest mate Delroy Preddie moves up into second from last week, with a decent weekly score of 65 points. This was thanks to the likes of captain Kane (16) De Bruyne (14) Mane (11) Alexander-Arnold (8) and Duffy (6). Former league leader Natalie Stigwood moves down into third, due a disappointing 48 point week. Her only real contributions came from captain Abraham (14) Mane (11) and Rashford (9).
Lee Barratt remains in the Champions League places but made ground on third, with a superb weekly score of 70, two points off the highest scorer. Doing the business were captain De Bruyne (28) Rashford (9) Maguire (8) Dunk (8) and Richarlison (6). Timothy Stigwood moves up into fifth place with a decent weekly score of 66 points, This was due to the likes of captain De Bruyne (28) Alexander-Arnold (8) Kane (8) and Abraham (7).
Perennial top ten man Danny Milton moves down into sixth place with a weekly score of 54 points, his contributions came from captain Salah (6) De Bruyne (14) Rashford (9) Martial (8) Abraham (7) and Ryan (6). December’s manager of the month mr ever present Jeff Franklin moves up into seventh place due to a very decent weekly score of 68 points. This was thanks to captain Rashford (18) De Bruyne (14) Ings (9) Alexander-Arnold (8) and Martial (8).
Last years runner up Mr James moves down into eighth place with a weekly score of 58 points. This was due to contributions from captain Salah (6) De Bruyne (14) Rashford (9) Ings (9) Alexander-Arnold (8) and Ryan (6). Simon Sebhat moves up into ninth place due to a decent 60 point week, this was thanks to vice captain Aubameyang (18) De Bruyne (14) Mane (11) Alexander-Arnold (8) and James (6).
Owen Barnes moves down into tenth place, with a weekly score of 53 points. His contributors came from captain Mane (22) Rashford (9) Alexander-Arnold (8) and Abraham (7). Despite and surprisingly moving down into 12th place, this weeks Highest Scorer was Nordin Gharib with a superb weekly score of 72 points. Doing the business were vice captain Rashford (18) De Bruyne (14) Mane (11) Ings (9) Dunk (8) and Richarlison (6).
Full steam ahead to the New Year’s day fixtures. Happy New Year ya’ll.
