I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON SEVEN
WEEK 38
This, in the final week of the Premier League. Spurs came from 2-1 down to beat Leicester 4-2 away, to qualify for the Europa Conference League and relegate Leicester from the Champions League to Europa. Liverpool comfortably beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at home to finish third and qualify for the Champions League, Man City destroyed Everton 5-0 at home, before lifting the Premier League trophy. Aston Villa beat Chelsea 2-1 at home but Chelsea still finished fourth. Man Utd who were already confirmed in second needed a penalty to beat Wolves 2-1 away. West Ham completed a very successful season by beating Southampton 3-0 at home to qualify for the Europa League. Leeds finished a very respectable ninth after beating West Brom 3-1 at home. Arsenal finished in eighth for the second season in a row following their 2-0 home win over Brighton. Newcastle signed off their season by beating Fulham 2-0 away and Sheff Utd ended the season on a high by beating Burnley 1-0 at home.
In the ITYIFL, perennial top ten man Danny Milton is the new CHAMPION. After last seasons heartbreak of losing the title on the final week, there were no such drama this time around, as in the end he romped to the title via a healthy 81 points. This was thanks to his very decent final day weekly score of 78 points, due to captain Raphinha (10) Pepe (16) Kane (10) Leno (7) Cresswell (6) Bamford (6) Mahrez (6) Alexander-Arnold (5) Son (5) and Firmino (5). Well done. Contact me to tell me what colour you want your name in on the champions list.
Defending champion Jeff Franklin sneaked into second by just one point and made it a reverse of 1st and 2nd from last season, making next season already looking like an interesting rivalry. He scored a superb 93 point week, making him this weeks Highest Scorer. He was also May’s manager of the month. Doing the business were captain Salah (12) Mane (16) Pepe (16) Kane (10) Coufal (10) Willock (8) Bamford (6) Targett (5). Lee Barratt moves down to third, following his 58 point weekly score, with contributions from captain Bamford (12) Coufal (10) Robertson (8) Foden (6) Salah (6) and Dawson (6).
Mr James finishes in the Champions League places, following a decent 67 point weekly score. This was thanks to captain Salah (12) Pepe (16) Mane (16) Cresswell (6) Alexander-Arnold (6). Former champ ahm Charles Denton moved up to fifth, thanks to a decent 69 point week with contributions from captain Salah (12) Ederson (12) Kane (10) Willock (8) Robertson (8) Phillips (6) and Raphinha (5).
My youngest son and another former champ Latrell Oscar moves down one to finish sixth, with a final day weekly score of 51, finishing top in the family 😉 This was due to captain Salah (12) Kane (10) Leno (7) Bowen (6) and Alexander-Arnold (5). My middle son Jahsiah Tobierrie finishes just behind his younger brother in seventh, with a slightly disappointing weekly score of 46 points. His only contributions came from captain Bamford (12) Kane (10) Robertson (8) and Salah (6).
Sanjay Beecher finished a quite successful second season in eighth place with a weekly score of 56 points, thanks to captain Salah (12) Kane (10) Cresswell (6) Phillips (6) Son (5) and Harrison (5). Also finishing an impressive second season in the top ten is Natalie Holder in ninth, just one point behind eighth, with a final day weekly score of 55 points. This was due to captain Bamford (12) Kane (10) Willock (8) Cresswell (6) Stones (6) and Alexander-Arnold (5).
Completing the top ten is Nordin Gharib, despite a disappointing 36 point weekly score, where his only real contributions came from captain Salah (12) Dawson (6) and Alexander-Arnold (5). This week there was no highest mover as only three managers moved places and all moved up just one place, the aforementioned Jeff Franklin and Charles Denton as well as Timothy Stigwood.
To add to the mentions, another shout out goes to champion Danny Milton, whose February manager of the month total of 408 points was the highest monthly total of the season. From Yours Truly in second with my total of 403 points and Charles Denton in third with a total of 387 points, which all came in February.
Finally, Congratulations to Danny Milton the 2020-2021 ITYIFL champion
