I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON EIGHT
WEEK 19
On this Boxing day in the Premier League, we were treated to an old-fashioned Boxing day bonanza as Man City beat Leicester 6-3 at home. Arsenal destroyed Norwich away 5-0. Chelsea left it late to beat Aston Villa 3-1 away. Tottenham continued their unbeaten run under their new manager as they comfortably beat Crystal Palace 3-0 at home. Southampton surprisingly beat West Ham 3-2 away. Brighton beat Brentford 2-0 at home and on the day after, Newcastle drew 1-1 at home with Man Utd.
In the ITYIFL, even with just seven games, the defending champion Danny Milton flexed his muscle. It could be a significant period and game week in the title race, as he stretched his lead at the top to 65 points, thanks to a superb 74 point week. This was thanks to captain Son (16) Saka (16) Tierney (13) Lacazette (11) and De Gea (5).
My youngest son Latrell Oscar remains in second, although losing some ground despite his decent 53 point weekly score. This was due to captain Gallagher (4) Tierney (13) Cucurella (9) Son (8) Ramsdale (6) and Antonio (5). Another former champ Jeff Franklin moves up into third and maybe poised to resume his two year rivalry with the league leader for a third year running. His 42 point weekly score came mainly from captain Rashford (4) Lacazette (11) Sanchez (9) Smith Rowe (6) and Antonio (5).
Moving down to fourth is Washington DC’s Greg Cabana with, from his point a view a very disappointing 25 point weekly score. His only real contributions came from Sanchez (9) Smith Rowe (6) and Dias (4). In fifth, His compatriot Sanjay Beecher seized the opportunity to close the gap to just two points, due to a 51 point week. This was thanks to captain Bernardo (4) Saka (16) Son (8) Ramsdale (6) and Dier (6).
Continuing her blistering form this month, Natalie Holder moves up to sixth, following a 42 point weekly score. This was due to captain Mount (4) Sanchez (9) Smith Rowe (6) and Gabriel (6). Owen Barnes also moves up, to seventh, due to his free hit 43 point week, thanks to Lacazette (11) Benrahma (7) Smith Rowe (6) and Gabriel (6).
This sees my coaching partner Francis Norville move down to eighth, due to disappointing, free hit 30 point weekly score, where he can only thank contributions from Smith Rowe (6) White (6) Ramsdale (6) Bowen (4) and Cancelo (4). My old work colleague Mr James remains in ninth, thanks to a decent free hit 50 point week. This was due to captain Martinelli (6) Lacazette (11) Mahrez (10) Son (8) and Smith Rowe (6).
Lord Ramdhan makes up the top ten and closes a little distance on the above teams due to a very decent 62 point weekly score. This was thanks to the likes of captain De Bruyne (14) Tierney (13) Maddison (10) Sanchez (9) and Smith Rowe (6). This week’s Highest Scorer was a former champ, ahem Charles Denton with an excellent weekly score of 75 points, which also made him this week’s Highest scorer as he moved up five places from 19th to 14th. Doing the business were captain White (12) Jorginho (15) Maddison (10) De Bruyne (7) Reguilon (7) Ramsdale (6) Smith Rowe (6) and Antonio (5).
We right in the midst of the busy Christmas period, with plenty of games coming thick and fast, so make it count y’all.
