SEASON EIGHT 

WEEK 24

This week in the Premier League, Southampton shocked Spurs by coming from a goal down to beat them 3-2 away. Newcastle beat Everton 3-1 at home. 10-man Arsenal hung on to beat Wolves 1-0 away. Liverpool comfortably beat Leicester 2-0 at home. West Ham ignored their controversies to beat Watford 1-0 at home. Man City eased passed Brentford at home 2-0. Aston Villa drew at home with Leeds 3-3 in a thriller. Burnley drew at home to Man Utd 1-1 and Palace came from a goal down but missed a pen as they drew 1-1 at Norwich.

In the ITYFL, quite a few managers took full advantage of the midweek games to bolster their points tally with very decent weeks. However, in a big surprise, the defending champion and league leader Danny Milton had a raw modest week, after his weekly score of 56 points. His contributions came from captain Kane (4) Jota (16) Bowen (11) Cancelo (7) and Alexander-Arnold (6).

This gave my youngest son and former champ Latrell Oscar a glimmer of light which helped, but he didn’t exactly take full advantage despite his 68 point weekly score. This was mainly due to vice-captain Jota (32) Ramsdale (9) Alexander-Arnold (6) Robertson (6) and Tierney (6). My old work colleague Mr James storms up into third place due to an excellent 88 point week. This was thanks to the likes of captain De Bruyne (22) Jota (16) Bowen (11) Ramsdale (9) Son (7) Alexander-Arnold (6) and Tierney (6).

After a short blip, Natalie Holder is back maintaining her good form as she moves up into a Champions League place, with a very decent wildcard weekly score of 80 points. This was due to captain De Bruyne (22) Jota (16) Bowen (11) Cancelo (7) Alexander-Arnold (6) Laporte (6) and Saint-Maximin (5). This week’s joint Highest Mover is Sanjay Beecher, who moved up two places from 7th to 5th, following an excellent 88 point weekly score. This was thanks to captain Bowen (22) Coutinho (16) Jota (16) White (7) Alexander-Arnold (6) Dias (6) and Fabiankski (6).

This all sees another former champ Jeff Franklin move down to sixth due to his modest 51 point weekly score, where his main contributors came from Bowen (11) De Bruyne (11) Cancelo (7) Alexander-Arnold (6) and Coufal (5). Washington DC’s Greg Cabana also moves down, into seventh, following his not too shabby weekly score of 65 points, due to captain Alexander-Arnold (12) Jota (16) Bowen (11) Pukki (9) and Dias (6).

This week’s Highest Scorer is Nordin Gharib, thanks to a superb 93 point weekly score, which also made him this week’s joint Highest Mover as he moved up two places from 10th to 8th. Doing the business were captain Coutinho (32) Jota (16) Bowen (11) Cresswell (8) Alexander-Arnold (6) Robertson (6) and Weghorst (5). This week’s third joint Highest Mover is Owen Barnes, who moved up two places from 11th to 9th, due to a very decent 86 point week. This was thanks to captain Jota (32) Gabriel (14) Ramsdale (9) Sterling (9) Cancelo (7) and Alexander-Arnold (6).

Moving down, but still making up the top ten due a decent 82 point weekly score is ahem Charles Denton. His contributions came from the likes of captain De Bruyne (22) Jota (16) Bowen (11) White (7) Dias (6) Fabianski (6) and Laporte (6).

Its a quick turnaround to the weekend games for week 25…..make it count y’all.
