I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON EIGHT
WEEK 31
This week in the Premier league, Brentford shocked one and all as they came from a goal down to beat Chelsea away 4-1. Crystal Palace brushed Arsenal aside at home 3-0. Tottenham destroyed Newcastle at home 5-1. Man City comfortably beat Burnley away 2-0. Liverpool beat Watford at home by the same score. West Ham beat Everton 2-1 at home. Wolves continued their surprise form as they beat Aston Villa 2-1 at home. Man Utd were somewhat fortunate to draw at home to Leicester 1-1. Leeds drew at home with Southampton 1-1 and Norwich drew 0-0 at Brighton. In midweek, in what was a real six pointer at the bottom, Burnley came from behind to beat Everton at home 3-2.
In the ITYIFL, with just seven more game weeks to go, in a low scoring week, defending champion Danny Milton remains consistent and edging ever closer to back to back titles, with a 92 point lead at the top. He had a weekly score of 45 points, with contributions from captain Salah (6) Doherty (14) Kulusevski (6) Robertson (6) and Kane (4).
My old work colleague Mr James remains in second, closing the gap slightly with a 53 point week. This was thanks to captain Salah (6) Doherty (14) Kulusevski (6) Robertson (6) Walker-Peters (6) and Kane (4). Sanjay Beecher remains in third, losing ground slightly, following his 41 point weekly score. This was mainly due to captain Salah (6) Doherty (14) Kulusevski (6) and Kane (4).
In fourth, closing the gap on third to just one point is my youngest son and former champ Latrell Oscar. This was thanks to a superb 70 point weekly score, making him this week’s Highest Scorer. Doing the business were captain Richarlison (34) Sterling (11) Gordon (6) Robertson (6) and Raphinha (5). Moving up to fifth is Washington DC’s Greg C, with a decent 59 point week. This was due to captain Salah (6) Doherty (14) Watkins (9) Maddison (6) Rudiger (6) Sanchez (6) and Antonio (5).
Moving down to sixth is my old football club mate Darren Ahmet with a weekly score of 42 points. His contributions came from captain Salah (6) Matip (7) Rudiger (6) Sanchez (6) Van Dijk (6) and Kane (4). Remaining in seventh is another former champ Jeff Franklin, following a decent 50 point week. This was due to captain Salah (6) Jonny (9) Cancelo (6) Kulusevski (6) Sanchez (6) Raphinha (5) and Kane (4).
Another who scored a decent 50 point week, moving him up to eighth place is Nordin Gharib, this was thanks to the likes of captain Salah (6) Doherty (14) Kulusevski (6) Walker-Peters (6) Toney (5) and Kane (4). This sees Natalie Holder move down to ninth, following a weekly score of 48 points. That would have been avoided had she not left 13 point Bowen on the bench. Her contributions came from captain Salah (6) Ward-Prowse (10) Watkins (9) Cancelo (6) Laporte (6) and Willock (5).
Making up the top ten is Lee Barratt who registered a very decent 58 point weekly score. This was thanks to captain Salah (6) Jota (14) De Bruyne (11) Guaita (7) Cancelo (6) and Laporte (6). This week’s Highest Mover was Owen Barnes. He moved up two places from 16th to 14th, thanks to his decent 56 point week. This was due to Jota (14) Bowen (13) Sterling (11) Cancelo (6) and Antonio (5).
Full steam ahead to week 32, make it count y’all.
