I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON EIGHT
WEEK 38
On the final day of the Premier League season. Man City came from two goals down to score three goals in just over six minutes, to beat Aston Villa 3-2 at the Etihad. To win their fourth Premier League title in five seasons. Liverpool came from a goal down to beat Wolves 3-1 at home, to finish just a point behind in second. Leeds scored a 94th-minute winner at Brentford, to win 2-1 and pull off the great escape. Burnley lost at home 2-1 to Newcastle and was relegated. Tottenham smashed Norwich 5-0 away to qualify for the Champions League. Arsenal smashed Everton 5-1 at home to finish in fifth. Leicester beat Southampton 4-1 at home. Brighton came from a goal down to beat West Ham 3-1 at home. Crystal Palace beat Man Utd 1-0 at home and Chelsea got a late winner to beat Watford 2-1 at home.
In the ITYIFL, history has been made, as for the first time in its eight year existence, we have a repeat winner. Even more impressive is Danny Milton has won back to back titles. In the end, he destroyed the competition, winning the league by a massive 147 points. On the last day of the season, he continued and consolidated his champion status as this week’s Highest Scorer with a superb 95 point week. Doing the business were captain Son (24) Kulusevski (15) Maddison (13) Kane (10) Robertson (9) James (7) Matip (7) and Saka (5).
Finishing in second, for the second season in a row is Jeff Franklin, who scored a decent 71 point weekly score. This was due to captain Son (24) Maddison (13) Kane (10) Emerson Royal (6) Nketiah (6) and Saka (5). In third, one place higher than where he finished last season, was is my old work colleague Mr James. He had a weekly score of 66 points, with contributions from captain De Bruyne (12) Maddison (13) Son (12) Vardy (10) Robertson (9) and Saka (5).
Making up the Champions League places in fourth is Sanjay Beecher, who has shown very good progress in his three years. He finished with a decent 78 point weekly score thanks to captain Kane (20) Kulusevski (16) Son (12) Robertson (9) Coutinho (8) and Saka (5). My old football clubmate Darren Ahmet can be proud of his fifth place finish in his third season. His final day weekly score of 67 points was mainly due to captain De Bruyne (12) Kulusevski (16) Son (12) James (7) Nketiah (6) and Saka (5).
Washington DC’s Greg Cababa finished in sixth, thanks to an excellent bench boost 92 point weekly score. Doing the business was captain Son (24) Maddison (13) Welbeck (11) Kane (10) Cash (7) Watkins (5) and from off the bench Zaha (9). This tally also saw him become the inaugural ITYIFL Cup winner. So congratulations sir, your name will forever be etched in ITYIFL history. Finishing in seventh, is former champ ahem Charles Denton with a weekly score of 63 points. His contributions came from captain De Bruyne (12) Kulusevski (16) Anderson (9) Matip (7) Nketiah (6) and Salah (6).
My youngest son and another former champ Latrell Oscar finished in eighth, following his 59 point weekly score. This was mainly due to captain Son (24) Raphinha (9) Robertson (9) and Saka (5). Lee Barratt finishes in ninth place, following his weekly score of 56 points. His contributions came from captain Son (24) Guaita (10) De Bruyne (6) and Dier (6).
Flying the flag for the ladies, finishing in a very respectable 10th place is Natalie Holder. This was due to a decent bench boost 71 point weekly score, thanks to captain Son (24) Kulusevski (16) Gabriel (8) James (7) Saka (5) and Watkins (5). This week’s Highest Mover was Lord Ramdhan. He moved up two places from 17th to 15th, following a weekly score of 60 points, due to the likes of captain Vardy (20) Maddison (13) Zaha (9) De Bruyne (6) and Nketiah (6). However, it would have been even better had he not left 22 points on the bench.
So that’s it, the Premier League has finished for another season. All that’s left to say is CONGRATULATIONS to back to back winner Danny Milton and to the inaugural ITYIFL cup winner Greg Cabana. See y’all next season!
