I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON NINE
WEEK 12
This week in the Premier League, bottom-of-the-table Notts Forest shocked lacklustre Liverpool 1-0 at home. Aston Villa got life after Gerrard off to a great start as they beat Brentford 4-0 at Villa Park. Newcastle moved into the top four as they beat Tottenham 2-1 away. Leicester climbed out of the bottom three as they destroyed Wolves 4-0 away. Fulham continued their good form as they came from a goal down to beat Leeds 3-2 away. Everton beat Crystal Palace 3-0 at home, Man City beat Brighton 3-1 at home, West Ham got a much-needed win as they beat Bournemouth 2-0 at home. Chelsea got a late penalty but were pegged back as Man Utd got an even later equaliser to draw 1-1 at Stamford Bridge. Also, Southampton drew 1-1 at home with league leaders Arsenal.
In the ITYIFL, after a poor midweek, league leader Natalie Stigwood is back on track, as she stretched her lead past the 50 point mark. Thanks to a very decent 59 point week, which was mainly down to captain Haaland (26) Bernardo (9) and Kane (8).
Former champ Jeff Franklin remains in second, within touching distance due to his 53 point weekly score. His contributions came from captain Haaland (26) Trossard (7) and Mitrovic (6). Moving up to third is my recent former work colleague Abdul Rahman, who is in red hot form at present. He delivered a strong 66 point weekly score, thanks to captain Haaland (26) Andreas (10) Almiron (10) and Kane (8).
This sees double champ Danny Milton move down to fourth, although he is another who is having a decent month. He produced a weekly score of 50 points, mainly due to captain Haaland (26) Kane (8) and Bowen (3). This week’s Highest Mover is another former work colleague, my Spurs mate Keith Wilson (seems like you do well when Spurs don’t). He moved up nine places from 14th to 5th thanks to an excellent 77 point weekly score. Doing the business was captain Haaland (26) Bernardo (9) Kane (8) Maddison (8) Trossard (7) Coady (6) and Watkins (6).
My coaching partner Francis Norville remains in sixth, but technically joint fifth, following his bench boost 53 point week. His main contributions came from only captain Haaland (26) and Cresswell (8), with just a combined 5 points off the bench. Moving up to seventh, just a point behind, is Yours Truly, for my first foray into the top ten. I scored a very decent weekly score of 70 points, thanks to captain Haaland (26) Andreas (10) De Bruyne (9) Kane (8) and Pickford (6).
In eighth, but technically joint seventh, and also just a point behind fifth and sixth is Sanjay Beecher, following a decent 64 point weekly score. This was due to captain Kane (16) Haaland (13) Almiron (10) Barnes (8) and Mitrovic (6). It is very tight in the top ten as 5th to 8th are separated by just one point. Owen Barnes moves up to ninth, thanks to his very decent 69 point week. This was due to captain Haaland (26) Xhaka (10) De Bruyne (9) Maddison (8) and Mitrovic (6).
My middle son Jahsiah Tobierrie moves up into the top ten, due to his weekly score of 53 points. His contributions came mainly from captain Haaland (26) Kane (8) and S.Longstaff (5). This week’s Highest Scorer was Washington DC’s Greg Cabana, thanks to a superb 85 point weekly score. Doing the business was captain Haaland (26) Castagne (12) Andreas (10) Almiron (10) Maddison (8) Mitrovic (6) and White (6)
Full steam ahead to week unlucky 13, hopefully, lucky for some. Make it count y’all.
