I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON NINE
WEEK 13
This week in the Premier League, Leeds heaped more stress and pressure on Liverpool as they snapped their long unbeaten home run to win 2-1 at Anfield. Brighton got one over their old manager as they thrashed Chelsea 4-1 at home. Spurs came from two down to beat Bournemouth 3-2 away, Arsenal destroyed Notts Forest 5-0 at home, Newcastle also destroyed Aston Villa 4-0 at home. Man City needed a spectacular free kick to beat Leicester 1-0 away. Man Utd just about got past West Ham 1-0 at home. Crystal Palace squeezed past Southampton 1-0 at home. Wolves equalised just a minute after conceding, to draw 1-1 at Brentford, and Everton drew 0-0 at Fulham.
In the ITYIFL, league leader Natalie Stigwood may start looking over her shoulder, as a few weeks ago, she looked a certainty to be leading the league when we break for the World Cup. But that may now be under threat. She has not had the best month, and this week she scored a modest 45 point weekly score, with only Trippier (11) Martinelli (8) Cancelo (6) Pope and Schar (6) providing any significant points.
Former champ Jeff Franklin is in second and must be rubbing his hands after making up good ground to be 35 points off the top. This is due to a decent 68 point week, thanks to vice-captain Salah (14) Trippier (11) Dalot (9) Martinelli (8) Trossard (7) Cancelo (6) and Ramsdale (6). My recent former work colleague Abdul Rahman continues to make waves in his debut season. He scored a decent 63 point weekly score to stay within touching distance. Thanks to Almiron (12) Trippier (11) Jesus (9) Martinelli (8) Cancelo (6) and Ramsdale (6).
In fourth is double champ Danny Milton who continues to hover menacingly in the slipstream, following his decent 66 point week. His contributions came from Almiron (12) Trippier (11) Dalot (9) Jesus (9) Martinelli (8) and Cancelo (6). Moving up to fifth is Yours Truly. I had a superb (if I do say so myself) weekly score of 83 points. Doing the business was vice-captain Jesus (18) De Bruyne (11) Pickford (11) Trippier (11) Dalot (9) Martinelli (8) and Saliba (7).
Also having a decent month and moving up to sixth is Sanjay Beecher thanks to his decent 69 point weekly score. This was due to the likes of captain Salah (14) Almiron (12) Trippier (11) Dalot (9) Diop (7) and Saliba (7). This sees my coaching partner Francis Norville move down to seventh, despite his decent 65 point week. With contributions from Almiron (12) Trippier (11) Jesus (9) Martinelli (8) Cancelo (6) Ramsdale (6) and Schar (6).
Also moving down, into eighth is another former work colleague and my Spurs mate Keith Wilson, following his wildcard weekly score of 58 points. This was due to Almiron (12) Jesus (9) Coady (7) Trossard (7) Saliba (7) and Pope (6). Moving up to ninth is my middle son Jahsiah Tobierrie thanks to his 65 point week. This was following contributions from vice-captain Jesus (18) De Bruyne (11) Dalot (9) Martinelli (8) and Pope (6).
It’s a family affair as this week’s Highest Mover is my youngest son Latrell Oscar. He moves up six places from 16th to 10th (technically joint ninth) due to a superb weekly score of 81 points. Thanks to the likes of Almiron (12) De Bruyne (11) Pickford (11) Trippier (11) Jesus (9) Martinelli (8) Saliba (7) and Mykolenko (6). It really is a family affair as this week’s Highest Scorer is my oldest son, under his alias Tommy Devito, thanks to his excellent 87 point week. Doing the business was a smart captain pick of De Bruyne (22) Almiron (12) Trippier (11) Odegaard (10) Jesus (9) Trossard (7) Cancelo (6) and Gabriel (6)
There are only two more game weeks until we break for the World Cup. Make it count y’all.
