I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON NINE
WEEK 26
This week in the Premier League, Bournemouth upset Liverpool 1-0 at home to move out the relegation zone. Arsenal maintained their five-point lead at the top as they brushed Fulham aside 3-0 away. Man City needed a penalty to squeeze past Crystal Palace 1-0 away. Chelsea got a moral boosted 3-1 away win at Leicester. Spurs beat Notts Forest at home by the same score. Everton boosted their relegation fears with a 1-0 home win against Brentford. Newcastle got a late goal to beat Wolves 2-1 at home. Leeds came back twice to draw 2-2 at home with Brighton and West Ham drew 1-1 at home with Aston Villa. Then in midweek, Brentford beat Southampton 2-0 away and Brighton beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at home.
In the ITYFL, just like a formula one driver in the slipstream waiting to use DRS on the straight. Or a long-distance runner kicking on the final bend. Double champion Danny Milton waiting and has now picked the perfect time to take the lead. It has a feel of inevitability as he now leads the league by 11 points thanks to his superb 105 point week, making him this week’s Highest Scorer. Doing the business was captain Toney (26) Kane (13) Mitoma (12) March (11) Estupinan (9) Raya (9) Henry (8) Haaland (6) and Trippier (5).
After leading the league from week 2, Natalie Stigwood must feel a bit deflated after being bumped down to second, following her 63 point weekly score. Her contributions came from captain Haaland (12) Kane (13) Almiron (9) White (6) Zinchenko (6) and Trippier (5). It’s all the old faces flexing their muscle as former champ Jeff Franklin moves up three places from sixth to third, just 8 points behind second, making him this this week’s joint Highest Mover. This was due to an excellent wildcard weekly score of 102 points. Thanks to captain Toney (26) Kane (13) Mitoma (12) Estupinan (9) Raya (9) Henry (8) Martinelli (8) Haaland (6) and Trippier (5).
My recent former work colleague Abdul Rahman remains in the Champions League places, just 3 points behind third, following a very decent 86 point week. Due to captain March (22) Kane (13) Estupinan (9) Watkins (8) Saliba (7) Ake (6) Haaland (6) and Ramsdale (6). Moving down to fifth, but just 3 points behind fourth is Washington DC’S Greg Cabana with a weekly score of 73 points. His contributions were from captain Toney (26) Mitoma (12) Haaland (6) White (6) Shaw (5) Trippier (5) and Adams (4).
Also moving down to sixth is Philippines native Jean Ninal, despite her decent 88 point weekly score. Due to the likes of captain Toney (26) Kane (13) March (11) Henry (8) Martinelli (8) Haaland (6) Shaw (6) and Zinchenko (6). Yours Truly remains in seventh place, following my very decent weekly score of 91 points, thanks to captain Mitoma (24) Kane (13) Toney (13) Henry (8) Pickford (8) Haaland (6) Zinchenko (6) and Trippier (5).
Sanjay Beecher remains in eighth due to his very decent 93 point weekly score. Thanks to captain Mitoma (24) Kane (13) Toney (13) Estupinan (9) Raya (9) Haaland (6) White (6) and Shaw (5). Remaining in ninth, but further closing the distance on the teams above is my old football clubmate Darren Ahmet thanks to his very decent 100 point week. With contributions from the likes of captain Toney (26) Kane (13) Mitoma (12) March (11) Raya (9) Saliba (7) Haaland (6) Shaw (5) and Trippier (5).
Despite losing ground, Timothy Stigwood hangs on to tenth place, following a disappointing weekly score of 59 points. His contributions came mainly from Kane (13) March (11) Saliba (7) Haaland (6) and Trippier (5). This week’s other joint Highest Mover was my youngest son and former champ Latrell Oscar. He moved up three places from 18th to 15th thanks to a decent 82 point weekly score. With contributions from captain Toney (26) Kane (13) Raya (9) Martinelli (8) Haaland (6) White (6) and Shaw (5).
It’s a quick turnaround to the weekend games staring on Friday, make it count y’all.
