I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON NINE
WEEK 30
This week in the Premier League. Bournemouth scored in the last minute to shock Tottenham away 3-2. Liverpool destroyed Leeds away 6-1. Villa brushed Newcastle aside 3-0 at home. Brighton piled more misery on Chelsea as they beat them 2-1 away. Fulham enhanced their European charge while plunging Everton into more issues with a 3-1 win a Goodison. Man City eased past Leicester aside 3-1 at home. Crystal Palace beat bottom club Southampton 2-0 away. Man Utd comfortably beat Notts Forest at away by the same score. As did Wolves at home to Brentford. Also, West Ham came from two early goals down to draw 2-2 at home to league leaders Arsenal.
In the ITYFL, in what is becoming a tradition in this league, right at the business end of the season, WE HAVE A TITLE RACE. Former champ Jeff Franklin ramps up his rivalry with his arch nemeses, as he moved to the top of the league by just a single point. This is following a decent 65 point week, thanks to the likes of captain Haaland (24) Watkins (16) Grealish (7) Martinelli (5) and Raya (5).
Double Champ Danny Milton will be determined to reclaim the top spot in his 3peat pursuit. He had a modest 53 point weekly score, mainly due to captain Haaland (24) Watkins (16) and Kepa (6). Washington DC’s Greg Cabana is in touching distance of making it a three-horse race, following his very decent weekly score of 77 points. Doing the business was captain Haaland (24) Watkins (16) Odegaard (10) Grealish (7) Sa (7) and White (6).
Making up the Champions League places is long-time league leader Natalie Stigwood with a wildcard weekly score of 55 points. Due to captain Haaland (24) De Bruyne (8) Grealish (7) and Jesus (7). Remaining in fifth is my recent former work colleague Abdul Rahman, who is losing touch with the top four following a disappointing weekly score of 45 points. His only contributions came from vice-captain Kane (4) Watkins (16) Haaland (12) and March (5).
Moving up into sixth place is Sanjay Beecher due to a very decent 75 point week. Thanks to the likes of captain Haaland (24) Watkins (16) Odegaard (10) Grealish (7) White (6) and Raya (5). This sees Philippines native Jean Ninal move down to seventh, following her modest 57 point weekly score, with contributions from captain Haaland (24) Odegaard (10) Grealish (7) and Martinelli (5).
Remaining in eighth place is Yours Truly, following my weekly score of 61 points. Due to captain Haaland (24) Watkins (16) Grealish (7) and Martinelli (5). Also remaining in ninth is my old football clubmate, Darren Ahmet, following his modest 55 point week, with contributions from captain Haaland (24) Jesus (7) Mings (6) Martinelli (5) and Raya (5).
Timothy Stigwood remains in tenth place via a solitary point due to his modest wildcard weekly score of 55 points. Thanks mainly to captain Haaland (24) De Bruyne (8) Jesus (7) March (5) and Martinelli (5). This week’s Highest Scorer was my middle son Jahsiah Tobierrie, following his superb weekly score of 84 points. Doing the business was captain Haaland (24) Watkins (16) Salah (14) Odegaard (10) White (6) and Martinelli (5).
This week’s Highest Mover was the only person to move up more than one place, my long-time friend Bob Maroon. He moved up two places from 22nd to 20th, due to his decent 60 point week. Thanks to the likes of captain Kane (4) Watkins (16) Salah (14) McNeil (10) and Odegaard (10).
Full steam ahead to week 31, which starts on Friday. Make it count y’all.
