I TELL YAH INVITATIONAL LEAGUE
SEASON TWELVE
FINAL DAY
On the final day of the Premier League, after Arsenal celebrated being league champions, they enjoyed a 2-1 away win at Crystal Palace. With relegation on the line, Tottenham beat Everton 1-0 at home to stay in the league, while West Ham comfortably beat Leeds 3-0 at home but lost their Premier League status. Against all odds, Sunderland qualified for the Europa League after they beat Chelsea 2-1 at home.
Bournemouth also qualified for the Europa League following their 1-1 draw at Notts Forest. Champions League bound, Aston Villa surprised Man City with a 2-1 away win. Man Utd ended a positive season in third with a comfortable 3-0 away win at Brighton, who qualified for the Conference League via goal difference.
Former champions Liverpool also made it to the Champions League following a disappointing 1-1 home draw with Brentford, who missed out on Europe via goal difference. Fulham ended the season with a 2-0 home win against Newcastle, and Burnley played out a 1-1 home draw with fellow relegated team Wolves.
In the ITYFL, Congratulations to my old football club mate and happy Arsenal man, Darren Micheal, who is the new ITYFL champion, and comfortably by over thirty points. He ended the season with a very decent 62 point weekly score. Thanks to vice captain B.Fernandes (28) Bowen (12) Semenyo (6) Mukiel (4) Wilson (4), and Hill (3).
Coach Simz Simeon Edwards ended the season in second place after a gallant effort in his debut season. He had a very decent final day weekly score of 71 points, mainly due to triple captain B.Fernandes (42) Watkins (13), and Semenyo (6).
Also putting in a good effort to finish third is long-time bredrin Francis Norville, who ended the season with a modest 44 point week, and main contributions from captain Dewsbury-Hall (4) B.Fernandes (14) Gibbs-White (9) Semenyo (6), and Mukiele (4).
Former champ (ahem) Charles Denton ends the season comfortably in fourth, despite a disappointing final day weekly score of 36 points, with vice captain Kroupi (4) Bowen (12) Semenyo (6), and Truffert (6).
My OldSkool mate Derick Fredericks moves up to finish in a very admirable fifth place, thanks to a decent 59 point week. Mainly due to vice triple captain Gibbs-White (27) B.Fernandes (14), and Truffert (6). This sees former champ and my youngest son, Latrell Oscar, move down and finish in a respectable sixth place and family bragging rights. Despite his modest weekly score of 36 points and contributions from captain Woltemade (4) B.Fernandes (14) Gibbs-White (9), and Wilson (4).
My middle son, Jahsiah Tobierrie, finishes in seventh, just five points behind his younger brother, with a final-day weekly score of 53 points, due to captain Bowen (24) B.Fernandes (14) Dowman (3), and Hill (3). Two-time champ Jeff Franklin finishes in eighth place, following his decent bench boost 63 point week. His contributions came from captain B.Fernandes (28) Bowen (12) Gallagher (3) Tarkowski (3), and from off the bench, Le Fee (5) and Hill (3).
This week’s Highest Mover is my oldest son, under his alias Tommy Devito, who stormed up five places from 14th to finish in 9th, thanks to an excellent bench boost 74 point weekly score. Doing the business were captain B.Fernandes (24) Bowen (12) Gibbs-White (9) Salah (6) Semenyo (6), and from off the bench Dowman (3). Moving down but making up the top ten via just five points is Tommy Lee, following a weekly score of 54 points and main contributions from captain Bowen (24) Gibbs-White (9) Mavropanos (8), and Collins (3).
This week’s Highest Scorer was my old work colleague and very happy Arsenal man, Mr James. He notched a superb 78 point week. Doing the business was triple captain Bowen (36). B.Fernandes (14) Watkins (13), and Lewis-Potter (5).
Lastly, it’s a double celebration for my old football club mate Darren Michael, who beat Derick Fredericks by just three points in the final of the ITYFL Cup. Congratulations once again, you’ve had a tremendous season all around.
That’s it for another season. I hope you all enjoy the World Cup, which starts on June 11th (the day before my birthday), and I’ll see you all next season to do it all again.
